Rodgers probably never will manage Dortmund, either. Or anyone else good. Hopefully.

Benteke doesn't make sense in Klopp's preferred system.
He thrives on counters, crosses and set-piece deliveries. None of them are an important part of that.

Buying the right players is easily as important as buying ones that are good.
Mertesacker's probably still a good defender. Is he good in a high line now? Doesn't look like it.
Too many managers don't seem to take that into account, for some reason.

i suppose that the risk in having transfer committees, DOF's & billionaire owners who buy players with a business model in mind rather than what will improve the team, its a silly part of modern football imo, let the manager buy the players or at least have final say. anything less is well... unlikely to work at a club where you cant just rip up the cheque book and start again (city/chavs/utd)

some of the players rodgers/committee bought in with the suarez cash made no sense whatsoever, balotelli being the big humdinger but lovren for 20m, lallana 20m.... shocking business.

Ffs there's about 4 pages of people arguing with Floppo's love child. If his presence keeps derailing threads we'll have to ban him... and we don't want that just yet :p

PNP, you should know better ;)

  9. Like you, Sucky, I'm not a gambling man.

In any event, I couldn't possibly change my user-name. My mastery of the powers of Wum are contained within it. I'd be lost and vulnerable without my name.

Really good finish from Barkley. City defending nowhere to be seen once again though.

Yeah, by maybe a centimeter or 2. Tough decision but I like that the lino didn't give it out just because it's the safer decision.
