No, i ment that the TV revenue and other income should be covering players wages and so on. I don't expect the club to go and splash 30 million on a player, and thats because we don't have that kind of money. But i expect some of the 35 million to spent this summer, even if it's 10 million on a good striker.

Unfortunately 10 million for a striker doesn't necessarily get you much in today's market, so I think it takes time when scouting and negotiating for players in that price range

he doesnt want Erdinc hes not a big replacement

So you've followed Erdinc's career and think he's a fantastic replacement for Carroll? I would love to see Sturridge here, proved he is class at Bolton. And Sturridge would be big replacement in my opinion.

But i won't be happy if we don't buy Aguero and Hulk, and if we dont get the Shola/Messi swap done i will boycoutt the ****ing club!

I don't buy the fact we've used up most of the £35 million for a second. I think it's being used to pay off the debt. I don't mind that but it ****s me off how the club act as if it isn't.

If Carr is a fan of Erdinç then thats good enough for me. He has wanted him for a while so he must be good enough for Newcastle! Sturridge would cost too much because he is English, English players are way over priced at the moment. Carroll had only played a handful of premiership games and went for £35 million which is a very good deal on our part. Nolan went because he wanted a five year contract and we wouldn't give it to him. At the rate hes going he doesnt have five years left in him as hes looking slower and slower every season. Cabaye came in as his replacement for the same price as we sold Nolan and for probably less wages. Plus we got Demba Ba whos career scoring record is 1 in every 2 games and Marveaux who nearly signed for Liverpool. Those players to me show ambition and are an improvement on the players we have. I think Ashley will spend again but not until the likes of Smith are gone, isn't he on 50k a week? Get the high earners like smith and xisco off the books and then that will free up more money for better replacements. Enrique doesn't want to be here, so he should go which will get us about £10 million. We will probably spend £5million on a replacement and the rest goes into helping the club financially.

Don bother listening to that waste of space Carr.

He lacked pace as does his braincells.

Need fast strikers to compete with the pace of the premiership

I'd agree with that, there's no shame in admitting it's being put towards the debt -- the earlier the debt is paid off, the easier money can be spent in the future

Cant stand when people say this, expecting us to go out and spend 90 million or something. Football clubs cost a ****load to run, our wagebill is still up there with the highest in the league, and yes, a lot of the 35m has been spent.

No ones saying we should spend that much. It annoys me when people state that most of the £35m has been spent as if they know the business better than everyone else.

If you are right and there's all these astronomical costs to running a football club that we're being ignorant about, then it's amazing most premierleague clubs survive! Nufc have one of highest revenue streams and have made money in the transfer Market the last few years... And yet we still need to sell a player for £35m just to keep the club afloat?!? Give me a break.

Bottom line is Jose has outgrown the club. He has given great service and improved massively. His comments are just frustration that our ambitions don't match his own at the current time. He wanted us to keep the likes of Nolan, Carroll and add the new players. Spend money and challenge for Europe. The league was close last year and maybe everyone has got a bit confused by a freak season. I'm not convinced the league has got so tight and so many teams have genuine european hopes. Jose deserves european football, we can't offer it for the foreseeable future. In my mind we'd need to be investing 30m-40m to have any hope and even you'd only be in the mix/on the outskirts. This is all compounded by the national team left back slot being up for grabs. His main rival to replace Capdevilla is Jose Angel who has just moved to Roma. H e is at an age where its now or never.

Ashley sees the club as a business and the books of this business do not look good. So he wants to sell high, buy low. He believes if this is done cleverly PL status can be maintained and the debt can be reduced. Its a long slow process but the end result is much healthier finances and a much more attractive asset to prospective buyers. He is no rush.
