I'm happy that Enrique is staying at the club for the rest of his contract.

And he's right. The club are doing what we feared and are letting go of all the major people at the club.

I think this is really worrying - shows the attitude of the players in the camp. Also, if you were thinking of signing for newcastle and you heard about these tweets would you want to come?

In fairness I totally agree with Jose - why should he stay at a selling club that's never going to progress. The caveat of selling Carroll was we'd get a replacement - and we haven't, not even close, let alone come close to spending the money (It's starting to get indefensible for anyone who wants to spout that "wages and agent fees are expensive" bull****).

We've also seen the stats on the net sales - we have made the most net money on transfers of all premiership clubs in the last 5 years. That's embarrassing, and you've got to ask where all the money is going - the ticket sales, merchandise, sky money, parachute payment for getting relegated - etc etc, surely easily covers the wages, so why aren't we spending any of the £35m?

I've tried to say positive this pre-season, but starting to fear the worst - I feel if we do well this season, it'll be because of the spirit of the players again, rather than the right sort of investment a club with our revenue streams and history deserves.

The only reason he would see out his contract (if he does) is because no team with CL football comes in for him, i'm not having this 'for the fans' slant he seems to be putting on things.

I'd hardly say the club is letting all of the major players go...Carroll was sold for what we and all pundits say was 'silly money', Nolan left because he didn't want a bit part role and thought he deserved to still be around in 3-5 years time, and if Barton had just shut up in the press, and maybe been more receptive to a shorter contract extension, then he would also be locked up.

People act like there's been a parade of players out the door, but in reality nobody's even been forced out (yet at least)

Told #nufc will issue some sort of statement this evening - or afternoon if you're in America - regarding Enrique. Not gone down well!

There havent been statements for Bartons tweets that have arguably been just as bad at times. Interesting that they've chose to plan a statement for Jose.
