You think Klopp wouldve took over if players were forced on him? Our normal situation at the club (Klopps words) has either been restructured or BR's trying to save face......

As for sugar daddies? No ta

Youre on the wind up arent you :emoticon-0103-cool:

ASL BTW? <smooch><whistle>

I'd rather no-one have a sugar daddy but that cat is out the bag.

If anyone is going to have an unfair financial advantage I'd rather it be us.

In all seriousness, we shouldn't forget the plight we were in before FSG took over. For that alone they get a lot of leeway from me.
Having said that, they don't seem to know enough about our game, and the idealism they've shown in trying to do things their way needs to be tempered with a bit more pragmatism now.
Perhaps they have shown a growing awareness by bringing Klopp in in the first place- a manager whose name might help attract better players.
But we also have to be practical, and imo a little more self awareness is needed from the fans. Footballers are, of course, young men- and a lot of the current ones know or care little about the history of our club. They see a club perennially lurking around the edge of the CL places, and so if a better prospect (and there are plenty of 'em) shows up then most of them are going to go for that.
LFC is just not sexy enough atm, no matter how difficult it is for us to accept.

Maybe Klopp can turn it around. We have to give him time, though- and I don't see the point in worrying about him at this stage. It's a steep learning curve for him too.
It's a relatively recent phenomenon for managers to be questioned so early in their tenure, and to have such high demands made of them so quickly. We need to have a little more patience.
Again.

Great post Father <applause>

You're right in that they don;'t seem to know much about football but what makes it worse is they surround themselves with people who claim to know about the game but in reality they don't, they just know more than the owners. They always come across as people with a plan but nor do they hesitate to throw that plan out the window should something more appealing come along; for example, they wanted Brod but he didn't want a DoF so they changed the setup.

I bet if you asked BR now if he would have taken a DoF in hindsight he'd jump at it.

DoF is at least identifiable (and can be blamed) if you disagree with things....

Would it have been much different? Comolli worked under FSG's rules still. The committee was just a way around giving the manager sole control, something Klopp's not bothered about.

the whole pointo Of Tehcnical director is not to make singings or interfere with the manager.

the role is about setting the overall strategy in accordance with owners wishes

IF FSG wanted a club with excellent scouting system that buys players younger and develops them up rhater than shelling out 32.5mil on players like benteke who are who they are (top pros with bags of talent) then they have gone completely the wrong way about it.

YOu needs a Chairman whos present and directing action. You need a tehcnical director ensuring that we have the proper struture with the roles and resources defined we need and then works to put faces in those roles. you hire first team coach to play the sort of game the club wants and let them work. you ensure theres the right staff and routes to promote

YOu don't hire a manager and hope... then 3 years later start from scratch.

This is why klopp came in saying i will work with these players.... why does in germany thats how its done. you dont sell every single player you inhrit and start a new... you bring in 3/4 key men and work with the rest.

You are aware that Klopp moved around seventeen players on in his first summer at Dortmund right?

Wouldn't have been as anonymous if issues arose...unless we had BR, DoF AND the transfer committe lol rather than Chairman>DoF>Manager.

Unless it was a false DoF and Inside outside Chairman..

Think it's why the yanks didn't like Kenny...they'd talk in management yank speak and he'd just say..............twats

yup. however when he took over there did he say it was to work with that group?

he's already had impact here on academy moving lots on.

Its just slightly harder to move on english players on too high wages. its easier move guys on to same wages. and due to the english league being awash with cash we can only sell in england...

in his pre match press klopp admitted he's getting frustrated with sturridge by putting it in a nice way ''we have to be patient with him, it's not my best skill but at this moment we have no other choice.''

he is saying i think at least 10 days which is kind of saying if he doesn't pull up again he can play after 2 clear weeks of training.

In otherwords....<sarcastic applause>.."he's managed to train four days in a row...I gave him a well done for trying ribbon"

Looking at the members involved in the transfer committee, I don't think it would have been too different. All finances in deals need to be approved, scouts would still be needed, etc. Only difference maybe is the DoF does the negotiating rather than Ayre
