I think a lot of it is pups sold by hacks too though

The reality is red sox could not complete with NY yankees.

did they just sell everyone? no...

they only tried to box clever and identify elite talent earlier.

what we have done however HERE is ended up picking up guys o ntheir way down and never weres rather than elite talents chasing as fast as posisble squad filling.

I have no problem with someone saying hey this lad ilori fits the criteria lets take a look, none at all.

however when you start throwing aspas, balotelii et all at us you know thats not what they are at.

I fundamentally beleive that they got it badly wrong with rodgers. they might have had an idea but they trhew it out and ende dup with a no name who was asking gerrard to text guys out of our league to join us.... we misse dout on mkhitaryan, willian, costa et al cos rodgers was a nobody.

Now you have klopp. perhaps he can teach them a thing or two and actually attract elite young talent and stay long enough to develop it. That means "staying cool" and ensuring milner et al playing ****e while those younger guys grow into the game needed

It was always a 3-5year job.

FSg have simply proved to naive in believing whoever told them a young manager could come in with a dossier and do x and y.... whoever the hell told them that ****e was the most deluded muppet on the planet.

    Basically Rodgers himself.

In all seriousness, though, what worries me is potential class signings will see Klopp can't do anything with the **** he has now and they won't come, anyway. If he has until the summer he has to show he can do something with this shower or we're going to end up mid-table and that won't attract flies to ****. Right now he's banging his head against a brick wall with yer Lallanas and yer Bentekes - and Mignolets. Has to come a time when he admits he's on a hiding to bugger all with the dross we have and get the **** rid.

Mweh to the Rogers attracting talent...thin end of wedge. Ayre is the one who wanders ...eventually.....towards a target...tells the selling club we won't pay what they ask and tells the player we won't pay what he wants.

We all scratch our heads when someone else buys them and we've shipped in the anaemic version while we've wimpered into our LFC mugs....

Then we go and do the opposite everytime a PL player trots by...

To answer the OP, no not worried about Klopp at all. Once he gets to buy his own players and hopefully he isn't forced to buy from a list, things should look better.

However I'd be more worried about FSG, I just don't think they get it. They come from a sporting background that is so drastically different from football (and European sport in general). American Sport is all huge contracts, drafts and commercial links, only one of which is relevant to us. Even now they keep showing they don't get transfers or the transfer system.

That'll be Mike Gordon, the know nothing "soccer" expert from FSG.

“He is by far FSG America’s most knowledgeable person with regard to soccer and is involved on the football side daily in constant communication with the members of our football committee and our manager. He took a lead role just about the same time as we brought in Brendan Rodgers.”

Yanks know frig all about our game, shouldn't be allowed anywhere near it. To them football is basically rugby with stupid girlie padding on. <doh>

Sadly, though, they do possess the money. Oh, and John Henry has a good-looking bird on his arm so that qualifies him to stay on for most people! <doh>

I see the UK want to start NFL franchise over here. If Rodgers is looking for a new job...

Thing is Wishi, Mike Gordon has THE say on ALL aspects of the everyday running of LFC and his senior partners can't see that they need someone steeped in association football along with a good business acumen to take the helm.

On for the successful years of Sir John Smith.<wah>

It's not that they can not see it. It's that they don't trust it and believe they are smarter than the game in town. Henry said as much from the start that he thought the way football operated was lunacy. He is right of course and understand that taking over in our situation proved his point.

But....there is no evidence that their model is superior on the football front and quite frankly if all they wanted to prove was they could run a club properly with no ambition they could have bought the lot across the park....:bandit:

Yeah, JH has got no chance of bringing any sanity into Football, he's better off becoming part of the lunacy than being a financial victim of it.<whistle>

In all seriousness, we shouldn't forget the plight we were in before FSG took over. For that alone they get a lot of leeway from me.
Having said that, they don't seem to know enough about our game, and the idealism they've shown in trying to do things their way needs to be tempered with a bit more pragmatism now.
Perhaps they have shown a growing awareness by bringing Klopp in in the first place- a manager whose name might help attract better players.
But we also have to be practical, and imo a little more self awareness is needed from the fans. Footballers are, of course, young men- and a lot of the current ones know or care little about the history of our club. They see a club perennially lurking around the edge of the CL places, and so if a better prospect (and there are plenty of 'em) shows up then most of them are going to go for that.
LFC is just not sexy enough atm, no matter how difficult it is for us to accept.

Maybe Klopp can turn it around. We have to give him time, though- and I don't see the point in worrying about him at this stage. It's a steep learning curve for him too.
It's a relatively recent phenomenon for managers to be questioned so early in their tenure, and to have such high demands made of them so quickly. We need to have a little more patience.
    Again.
