Chelsea to sign Pato. He will fit in well with Pedro, Falcao, Sulkio, Grumpio, Too-Oldio and Just'ere Forda-Dinero.

A ball might be going at 100 ft/sec so it goes a foot in that time. Could make a difference between saving it and not...

<laugh> although I believe that last one is Italian, unlike the other South Americans. I believe Bananarama had a song about him.

Pato means duck ( as in quack, quack) in both Spanish & Portugese. Not sure if that signifies anything!..

At £11m that duck had better come with a lot of pancakes and hoi sin sauce!

Oh apologies OS, I couldn't remember who exactly it was that gave us the update but just presumed it was a mod.

Sounds like a bit of a sticky situation then, hope one day it can get resolved, would be great to have him back.

I read according to a leaked report that Spurs have first refusal to re-sign Bale should he leave Real. That I think would be a big mistake as he wouldn't now fit in with this squad.

If we had Bale this season. We would have been doing much better, and we doing great as it is.

His hissy fit left a bit of a sour taste, before he left, I still like him and he would make a great leader for our young guns.

What I don't get is when players say 'I used to dream about playing for RM, when I was a kid'.

I've never dreamt of that, always wanted to play for the team I support.

So that would have been Arsenal - saving @gooner4ever the bother (Bale, not you).

Getting first dibs on Bale is nice an all, but surely any price he goes for is way out of our reach? Seems like Levy just put that in there to wind everyone up.

"His hissy fit left a bit of a sour taste, before he left"

That was annoying, but all the parties putting pressure on him finally did the job.
In terms of the money, it may have affected the payment terms and not the overall
    transfer fee.

Some ITK talk at the time was that Levy was trying to get PSG interested to ramp up a proper
bidding war on get real Madrid.

Would Bale be bound by the clause? Presumably if we match salary and Fee he'd have to either stay at RM or join us?

    Yep. :)

I am used to recruitment agencies chancing it with restraint clauses where the period
is not enforceable in UK (case) law (they always have to drop the period to 6 months :) ) , but
    this one is serious stuff.

You have several clauses put in, and all parties have the wealth to get good legal
representation to do due diligence on the contract. There is no way that any of the parties
can claim to a judge that they had no idea what those clauses meant in reality.
