I hope we get Bamford and Washington and start a new era at QPR. Charlie was fab but this season he was starting to get injured a bit and sadly i think we needed a change. Dave MC said some time ago that we should get rid of Austin/Phillips and move on and i agree, (not so much Phillips). Bamford is a good player and has a good pedigree. let's not knock him before we even get him (hopefully).
To be fair Bamford doesn't have a future at Chelsea so a 6 month loan could possibly become something else if he enjoyed himself, a switch to us wouldn't involve relocating himself.
A six month loan wouldn't benefit us at all. If he succeeds then he'll get a lower Prem club taking a punt on him. The only way he'd stay is if he plays regularly but does so badly his stock plummets.
This will be a lastminute.com loan deal if it ever happens....He thinks he's good enough for the Prem so will wait to see if a lower half prem side comes in for him, especially a team fighting relegation might be desperate enough to take a punt.....
I think we should have cleared house when came down and sold a lot,we need to stop having short term goals and start looking a few years ahead. I understand the pressure to be in the EPL but imo we need to spend a couple of years rebuilding, then a push back up with an intention to stay, not this short term fixes to problem. To answer the question on Bamford, he looks good and if we could secure a move great but short terms loans i don't think we should be looking at, I don't believe we are in danger of relegation or promotion so lets look at some realistic long term targets.
We had many Outs and Ins last summer. Many more changes than that would have probably given us similar problems to those we got when Hughes made too many changes, and we'd have been battling relegation to League 1. Could still happen if we let too many decent, experienced players go now in January.
Maybe your right Oslo, maybe I'm just getting bored of going round the same course again and again which is blinding my overall prospective. I still would have preferred to have got the Money for Charlie and anyone else who is rate as EPL class and started a fresh but then someone would have needed to take them.
What's the point of a loan signing? We're not going to go up and we're not going to go down. Waste of money.
I agree, the only plus would be getting to see a decent player in hoops for a few games, but Col doubts he's even that.
Isn't Bamford is in the last 6 months of his Chelsea contract? If so, we can play and assess him, and if it works out, we then have the option to buy him, so perhaps a bit like living with your girlfriend before getting married.
If he did come to us what odds on him being in a 3rd Play Off Final in a row? On 2nd thoughts lets not go there........
