I'm not having a go at anybody, I'm just pointing out that we've started to pick up and those that were (rightly) disgruntled earlier in the season are being dismissed, which isn't fair. It's easy to say in hindsight, but at the time, we were playing **** and Bruce's tactics were very odd. Players like Meyler and Elmo who were vital weren't being rested and as a result were underperforming, we were conceding daft goals and playing Dave at LB. It was the sign of a manager who was starting to run out of ideas. I'm glad it's going well at the moment, I couldn't be happier with the league position and how we apparently played today, but the proper test will be when we go away to the Riverside and the iPro. If we win or draw those, or even lose with a solid performance, I'll know we're going in the right direction.
By and large, our score line today was due to our players far superior ability. I'm not saying we should win 6-0 every game but we should see more from the players more often. On most other days the scorching 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th goals don't go in. They were belters. We didn't exactly tear charlton apart, we created one clear cut opportunity all game which Hernandez put away brilliantly for his hat trick. The rest is what our players are capable of, so you have to ask, why haven't they done it any other day over the last 21 months? We were **** once yadda yadda, garble garble. Leeds and Forest were great once they should be pissing the league. Huddersfield are a bigger more established club than most, why aren't they in the champions league? Because they're **** now. We should be seeing displays like today more. Bruce the **** out.
The good thing about getting a bit of a good run going (4 wins in January) and second is at least we might be able to keep the players we want and attract who Bruce wants.

You and those like you were rightly dismissed at the time because you were clearly over reacting to a few bad performances. Its nothing to do with hindsight, plenty of people had the ability to put things into perspective at the time and realise a change of division and squad disruption would inevitably see some bad performances. You only have to look at relegated teams throughout the years to realise how well we've been doing all season.
This is bull! People didn't over react at the time at all! We reacted to the fact we have been underperforming for 2 bloody years! As I've said multiple times, a better manager wouldn't have got us relegated last season. And you can't compare us to other relegated teams as those teams came down into this league with vastly inferior squads then ours! As a final few things, Do I believe Steve Bruce will get us promoted, I'd say yes Do i believe he's doing a decent job this season, 50/50, and the reason I say this is, are we were we should be in the league table, then yes we are but I think we should arguably be in a better position then we are because our away performances at times have been seriously lacking. I'd also say that any half decent manager would have us in exactly the same position with the squad we have at our disposal. But let's flip it on its head and ask, do I think Steve Bruce will keep us in the premier league and establish us as a mid table team? Then my answer is no chance!
Sorry but most of this is just delusional. You'll never be happy watching a team like Hull City if this is how you view things. Convincing yourself that another manager would have kept us up last season doesn't make it true and speculating that any 'half decent' manager would have us in the same league position this season is also complete fiction. When you constantly refer to the quality of the squad you have to consider who scouted those players and convinced them to come to Hull. Instead you take the squad for granted and blame the man that assembled it for not reaching your personal expectations.
The last 6 months we've scored more and conceded less than we ever have at this level, yet people call it negative when we shut up shop with a comfortable lead.
People were frustrated as it seemed like obvious changes like the one he has made recently were required a lot earlier, if he'd been picking Hayden for example instead of flogging Meyler like a Spanish donkey. I never understand people who use a forum and don't expect to read criticism and analysis or expect everybody to agree with them and get all pissy when they don't.
People also underestimate the job he's done with regards to personnel after relegation. Hernadez wanted nothing to do with the Championship at the start of the season and Bruce has got him on course for a 20 goal season.
'Winning things' Explanation needed ? I was being ironic. Hull City have won FA, which is why I questioned where some of you get your sky high expectations from. You say quite proudly 'if we weren't challenging for promotion by Christmas I want Bruce gone' Why FFS ? How many other City managers have had the club in the top third of the Championship ( before that Division 2) by Christmas ? You can count them on the fingers of one hand. You'd run out of space trying to list all those who have failed miserably. We haven't 'given ourselves' an outstanding opportunity at all. Steve Bruce, the owners, yes the owners, the players and everyone at the club have earned the right to be in a spot challenging for an immediate return to the Premier League. We should be 100% behind them, not sniping, whinging and demanding us to win promotion automatically as though we have some god given right because we are Hull City. There are some far bigger clubs in the Championship then us who would give their right arms to be in our position. Clubs who have bigger fan bases, bigger grounds, therefore bigger potential, and clubs who are seeped in a tradition of winning trophies over many years. We've been in one FA Cup Final ( under Bruce) and enjoyed three seasons on the top flight in our history. FFS Oxford United have won more then us. Yet we have a section of supporters who have expectations beyond belief based on what ? I want my club to play at the highest level. As do fans of every other club in the land. If some of you put as much effort and passion into supporting the manager and what ever team he puts on the field and had a bit of faith in his judgement, not only would the gates improve at the KC along with the atmosphere, we just might be a club/team to be reckoned with and one who deserves to be at top of the division challenging for promotion to the Premier League.
