Evenly poised. Nice 100 for root, one criticism of him is he doesn't convert enough 50's into 100's.

Root did a hero's task as I said above.

We really needed that century and partnership.

    Pity stokes is gone.

At this point with bairstow and moeen to come I'd hope we can survive the first 10 overs tomorrow and then get parity.

Not sure about broad cos he was a bit off bowling, find and Anderson won't offer much here.

We've got to get over 300 and hope for a lot better in field then.

I can still see us fall short of that 270 just as much as get 350 from here. There's just a couple big wickets in it now.

    Same old....

    Root gone almost immediately. Morkel.

Our last batsmen in. Moeen and bairstow look to close the gap down.

    33 behind right now.

Looks like unless total numbs kills they will be even.

    16 over to new ball.

I'd expect morkel to be put to pasture for that.

We can get a lead before new ball...if we just pick shots.

Broad Anderson and finn might wag the tail but for me they should go aggressive and not defend too much with new ball as they will get skittled. 50 lead would be great.

    We will see.

Scratch that morris takes moeen wicket.

Need to just get level now.

The 3 bowlers need to try and make it happen

Broad and bairstow being allowed to push singles.

Very wise play from the pair so far.

    Gap slowly closes

Lead by ten... bairstow caught chasing his 50.

    Gets 45.. very valuable.

Hope England's bowlers are up for this.....

I think we are potentially a seamer and an opener away from being the best team in the world.

Cook, Root would walk into any team.
    Taylor is exciting and young.
Stokes when on form is probably the most destructive all rounder in world cricket.

Anderson & Broad would again walk into any team and Finn always seems to pick up wickets.

I think we are a spinner and opener away but certainly not far off on this form <ok>

Figured that as I was replying mate <laugh> Jimmy will need to be phased out soon but Wood looks useful so be interesting to see if he develops. Just don't see any test standard spinners coming through at the moment though and someone decent to open with Cook has been an issue for too long now.
