Tiote is off to China for £8m

You mean 18m yeah? No that would be light wouldn't it Albert? Who talkshite?

It's Talkshite so hopefully is a pile of pigeon **** but thought I'd share.
My personal view is that Arsenal never spend much cash... and £20m seems a bit light anyway....

Seriously mate, stop trying to value players. You're really not very good at it. <laugh>

Was that you quoting a post from nearly 4 years ago Bri?? Surely even you can recognise that a player's value will be different when he has 5 years of a contract left rather than 1, and also that a player's value would be higher when he had just completed a season in a midfield partnership that had been touted as one of the most effective in the premier league (by neutrals) and had won plaudits for being part of a team that finished 5th?

Mate. 20m 4 years ago was worth even more making it even more ridiculous. He's never been worth close to that in his life man. Look what the players were going for around then. I mean he actually out valued Alex Songs move to Barca by 5 million from that very summer <laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh> Point proved. Just joking but valid as **** <laugh>

Transfer figures have never been about what somebody is worth. They're about what it would take to persuade a club to sell. On the back of that season we would have wanted a ridiculous amount to prize him away from us. so that we could replace him with a proven player. He never went on to fulfil his potential from that first season, but at the time even Alex Ferguson (who knows a thing or too apparently) said on Football Focus that he would love a player like Tiote in his team. That same summer Rodwell went for £12 million, Joe Allen went for £15 million and someone even bought Fletcher for £15 million!! <laugh>

I think you may be on to something here. Once upon time someone paid 35m for ponytailed striker who was rumoured to be having an affair with Derek Wright.

Very true but but he's still never been close to being worth 20m in his life<laugh> just this season the lad has slapped a 20m valuation on Sissoko <laugh> I'm amused by the 20ms more than anything. Everything is 20m in alberts worth.

****ing hel Nev, Banter is hard with you<laugh> Didn't come for in depth foot chatter just a bit of light hearted ribbing on the running 20m theme.

Some fight fire with fire - others fight it with a big bucket of water :D

Maybe but think back to how he was for your team when he first arrived. He played well and got the recognition with an England call up. What if he has a similar start at Newcastle? Doesn't that hinder Swansea in terms of the relegation fight?

Swansea may not have wanted him but I think it was a bit silly to sell him to a rival relegation threatened team. Good money in return so I guess it depends what you do with that cash.

We really do see it as weakening your chances.
Without him the team has looked like that .. a team. We are certainly no weaker without Jonjo but it is up to the Chairman now to replace his number with someone of better quality than we have.

Why Monk kept playing him and how he got an England call up is beyond belief.
As England are in the same Euro group as Wales there is great hope in the Principality that Hodgson builds the team around Shelvey.:emoticon-0136-giggl

If he becomes a super star for you great but it was never going to happen in Swansea.

I'm a liverpool fan dude <ok>

The point is this, the Jack army are far from bitter over this, and we are well over the moon at £12 Million for strengthening our front line, and many thanks for that, (not you, your club) but Shelvey never really fitted into our passing game, was always giving away possession, but we were very patient, matter of fact too patient, and this season it all unfolded, so once he was dropped our games picked up, and once we get rid of Go-miss, we will be back on track.

Shelvey needs to understand he is not as good as he thinks he is, and I watched your game against Manu the other night, and I couldn't for the life of me see why you wanted him, but there you go hope he starts to listen, because Shearer's words to him are very appropriate...........<ok>
