Not just "those 2 Academy coaches" Fran.... it was Doddsy!! :emoticon-0131-angel
I had his face in my mind, but am terrible with names....not getting better with age. I dread social events in case I have to introduce people I have known for ten years and have never learnt their name in that time. I may know you have a short name or a long name, but that is as close as it gets.

"You two really need to introduce yourselves to each other... I'll be back in a minute, just need to powder my nose"

Winner everytime :)

I have been studying the academy for some time now and I'm pretty sure I know what the problem is.

I have looked at the ages the kids join us, their backgrounds, their education, their diets, their training routines etc.

I have then had information about opportunities for each age groups and the progression from the under 7's to the under 21's.

I have sought opinions from coaches at the club regarding development and mentoring and how Koeman monitors their progress. I have been able to conclude that the reason their are not more academy players breaking into the first team is the lack of players with hyphenated names.
