Surely we could have afforded that and I feel it was a risk worth taking - especially if we'd offloaded Grabban to Bournemouth as well.
Don't forget Boremouth have rich owners and you can bet they are paying him a hell of a lot more than we would ever offer. Not only that they've given him a 4.1/2 year contract, can't see us offering contracts that long either

Grabban still might go there I guess to balance the books for what we will (eventually) pay for Naismith.

I suspect that Naismith will be our "striker solution" and Pinto will be our "CB solution" (allowing Rusty to move to the centre of defence as he prefers).

It's pathetic if we couldnt afford that! Especially as (like i said earlier) this is our 4th year in the PL out of the last 5! WTF have we spent the money on if we havent got £10m?!?!

Agreed and as you said in your earlier post - we'd better see at least one top class player coming in, otherwise there are going to be a lot of disgruntled fans!!!

We wouldnt have been competing with Bournmouth if we had pulled our fingers out in the Summer/last week!

Fair comment KIO

I'm hoping we don't see Rusty back in the centre of defence any time soon!!!

I think you'll find that he didn't want to move then/or his manager wouldn't allow him to leave.

What really gets me is how some of our so-called fans are acting like plastics, wanting our not rich enough owners out to be replaced by a multi billion man who will fast lose interest and drop us in the sh.. you know what. As for blaming McNally, the most efficient CEO we have ever had, were it not for him we'd be down among the dead men in the 9th tier.

For God's sake people, just take a look at how STUPID you look! <doh>

If Martin goes back to playing CB we will go down.

Dave I know that's another post aimed at me but once again you're missing the point. McNally has done a lot of good for this club that is beyond debate, but like everyone else he does make mistakes (waiting too long before giving Hoootun his P45 for example). It has been well documented that Boremouth wanted Grabban but for some inexplicable reason DM refused to sell to them. What happens? They go and sign our No 1 target from the summer Afobe instead. Sometimes Dave you do have to admit that our board make mistakes and my God they've made some howlers in the past and they're still making them. Other than DM who admittedly does come over as an astute businessman, we have a 'celebrity' chef, a comedian that hardly ever attends games and a Chairman who nearly bankrupted the UK on the board who all know **** all about football IMO. Doesn't fill you with much confidence does it?
