Well if Arsenal do win the league, you'll end up looking like a right tit, young man. This thread is nicely set up for just that.

He would look a bit silly, something tells me he'll be ok though.

Something tells me he already does, and that he is used to it.

This thread was created purely to discuss onfield matters but I am noticing a growing number of gunners using it as a channel to project their own angst. I am ok with that though

    Good retort!

I see a lot of "projection" going on, with certain people (I won't mention their names) projecting on to you their own fears of themselves.

They know that there is a humiliating hammering awaiting them, at the hands of Barca, and they also know that failure by Wenger to win the league this season will be unforgiveable - no more chances for the senile tortoise - and that makes them extremely angry and fearful. But, being too juvenile to admit their fear, they project it on to others.

I suppose one should almost pity them, as they are sorely afflicted.

Go on mate, feel free to. My dream for this thread is a comfortable and supportive environment and not the abusive and invective filled hell some gunners are trying to make it. Maybe I was naive.

It's always worked for HIAG, he makes a Tit of himself on a daily basis and it doesn't seem to affect him. He's been desensitised to the ridicule.

  9. Amen to that, Brother!

Even now, the enemies of this wonderful thread are encircling us and crying for our destruction, but we must not be fearful! Let's keep the camp-fire (of this thread) burning, that it become a beacon for others to find their way in the dark (that surrounds the metaphorical camp-fire), and that we prepare for every like-minded soul a place at our (camp) fire, and give them the mental nourishment (like the pork and beans that they would have if they had been sat around an actual camp-fire), that they might better resist the evil of those (Gunners) hiding in the darkness.

I think it's a safe bet that HIAG went to boarding school.

I think you need to be careful where HIAG's 'projection' ends up mate,
mind you, from the stories of his 'cocktail sausage diaries', I don't think you have much to be worried about <laugh>

TBH I do think it's funny a Saints fan wants to talk about an 'implosion' at Arsenal considering how **** Southampton have been doing for the last 3 months, no matter what happens to Arsenal, every Saints fan out there would wish to be in our position. Sure, we might not win the league, but least we will get top 4 again, with European football, and have just won the FA Cup back-back for the last 2 years and who knows maybe we will get 3 time lucky.

The Saints on the other hand? What, finish mid-table and then what? Sell most of your players again, or have another season that really gets you nowhere but mid table, again, and again, until you're eventually relegated again.

Least Arsenal have prospects of success, the only prospects Southampton have is relegation.

    Enjoy. ****.

There is a lot of anger and I daresay fear in this post. Honestly as a Saints fan I don't know if I would want us to be in Arsenal's position. The champions league tie v Barca will be a massacre and its brutality will almost certainly dent the fragile mentality of the Arsenal players, I have no doubts that Arsenal will play some scintilating stuff in the second half of the second leg when already condemned to defeat but this has never set a precedent for Arsenal to finish their season. Do I want to see Saints brutalised both on the pitch and mentally ? No I don't. Its called pride mate and Arsenal rarely if ever finish the season with any.
