Me: Bloody hell
Wife: What's wrong?
Me: A clue. It's five to five and it's Saturday*
Wife: Newcastle have lost?

(* Anyone thought 'Crackerjack pencil'?)

I literally went straight from this to reading on the BBC that Ed 'Stewpot' Francis had died. Another part of my childhood lost (at least it wasn't to prison this time!!)

What I fail to understand is when our forwards can't score we keep bringing on the same subs, who also can't score. Why wasn't Toney given a chance ?

The answer to that my friend is that Toney is most likely ****. A harsh answer but an interesting and, if I may be so bold, perhaps a correct observation?

0-1, 0-1, 0-1, 0-1.

Wonder how we'll do against Man U? Wonder if it'll be the same players? Wonder if Schteve will be sacked, or Charnley made accountable? Sadly, it's NUFC, and we all know the answer to the questions.

That the same Ivan Toney that was given a chance to grab a goal when we were outplayed by Sheff Weds reserves in the League Cup?

What's beyond comprehension is we had this problem in game one, nothing has changed. We cannot keep a clean sheet, we cannot score. I cannot for the life of me understand how those in charge are still in charge (well, I can really, but the hope is that even a pig-headed cnt like Ashley might be getting a bit disappointed by now).

Can't remember what other thread it was posted on, but.....does the drop in SD profits mean we have outlived our usefulness to the fat one? Could he be thinking of different options with so much money being wiped off shares? Long shot, but you never know. It remains our only shot at success; with Ashley, we simply cannot get much better than this.

So...Charnley's stated 'targets' at the start of the season were...the cups and a top 8 finish. Failed on all counts. He should be sacked along with Graham Carr [his fascination with France is killing the club] and that useless **** McClaren.

Insiders are predicting a further drop in value. Ashley could see his personal fortune drop to £1 billion.

100% this. Either he sacks McClaren for failing, or he should be sacked for failing. But this losing culture, whereby the entire club simply 'allows' failure is part of the cancer.

The poor love. Whatever will he do with such a paltry sum.

In reality, however, the thought of having to personally bankroll NUFC in relegation cannot be very appealing, right?

Part of the reason why i want us to go down. A drop in Ashley's fortune and then having to put money in to us. He will soon get rid.

Exactly mate. There are far worse offenders. Frustration is one thing but all round mongness cannot be condoned or tolerated.
I can't understand why he's the scapegoat when he hardly plays. Mitro misses chance after chance and seems disinterested for long periods of the game yet seems immune from criticism.

Just watched the highlights - Mitrovic actually did useful things, didn't really miss the big chance he allegedly did, seemed to me the pass was too far in front by Sissoko. Thauvin, however, missed an open goal (though was possibly offside, but still) then with the last chance attempted a volley from the byline instead of pulling it back. Shockingly poor.

I went along to your game today (QPR fan). First half you were very good and the much better side. The left-back (Mbamba?) and Janmaat were giving them loads of problems. Janmaat wasted a great chance and Perez missed a sitter. Then one of the defenders lost the plot completely passing back blindly and it's 1-0. Mbamba then got taken off early in the second half which killed the threat down that side but still created a couple of great chances. The fans were understandably aggrieved and vocal about it but it really wasn't a bad performance IMO. Watford didn't have a chance of note apart from the the goal.

Mitrovic is absolute **** though.
