I'm annoyed. I thought it was unlikely we would get him. Thought there is always that hope that the draw of the Premiership and the fact he has 5 months on his contract.
I find it very difficult not to be cynical about 99% of these players we're being linked to, there is something about it which seems to good to be true, the calibre of players we've been going for would be looking to play European football.
It's gone from the days of Dunston Hall, Morissons carpark and 'sources' to bloggers making exclusive stories from foreign tabloid snippets.

I don't believe half of the tripe that is trotted out - much of it is sheer fantasy.
It's best not to buy into it, deadline day for a Norwich fan is akin to a thousand lifetimes of disappointment, even though I'll admit on that day I'm usually in a foul mood
If 0.1% of the reports and tweets about who people are signing are actually "in the know" or in any way based in reality, I'd be very surprised.
I'm sure half of it is a scam. Tweet a load of ****, eventually something is accurate. Delete everything else and look like you actually know something. Suddenly people start following you because it looks like you have an inside line. When you've a twitter account with several thousand followers, you sell it to a company who take it over.
Or maybe I'm too cynical and people just like spewing **** for no reason.
There was a trend of doing that with the results of draws such as for the World Cup. Then people would retweet and follow the account, then it would just become one of those accounts that directs people to vault interesting top 10s with massive numbers of adverts.
I'm sure that's a major part of the reason, Bath. But a good parallel would be, suppose Newcastle offered us £5m for van Wolswinkle. Would we be right to reject that as they are deemed a relegation rival and it's guaranteed that he'd hit a rich vein of form and keep them up at our expense?

It would appear, not for the first time, that somebody has misinterpreted my comments as an attack on them. Apparently my asking my Watford friends why their mod had been banned was an attempt to stir up trouble for a supermod and now I've been accused of jumping on a mod's comments.
Let me explain, damned if they do and damned if they don't simply means if we sell to a relegation rival, the board will be damned for helping a rival to beat the drop at our expense and if we don't sell for a good price they will be accused of failing to free up a place in the squad and gain funds for another player.
I fail to see that as jumping on someone's comments!

It was indeed in support of RBF who is always on the mark!
It's less exciting when we've been told for over a week that its a nailed on certainty. However still a good signing and I'm looking forward to seeing him play. The FA cup may well be the perfect place for him to make his debut.

The Grabban issue is very difficult and the discussion reflects that. Dave's "damned if they do and damned if they don't" aptly sums up the quandary the Board finds themselves in. There are good arguments for selling and not selling and TBH, I can't make up my mind which way we should go. It may be that the Board will wait until we've got a new striker in before letting Grabban go, but selling to a rival is a problem. As with Wes and Bassong, the needs of the club come first, IMO, and AN should make the final decision.
Moving on to Ivo Pinto, you've got to like the guy's attitude:
