HIAG's like one of those zombies from a bad B-movie, you shoot him down, blow out his brains and he still gets up and comes back for more, groaning and babbling incomprehensible **** as he limps forward towards another pummelling.

nah ... not having that ... too implausible ... the magnification from even the most advanced of telescopic sights currently available on the market is never going to be enough to identify that small a target area ... especially when protected by such wobbly buttocks <laugh>

Please refer to my previous reply.

Your previous reply is simply you squirming.

You made a claim 'Wenger has spent far more than us ' on transfers and I am asking you if you stand by that and if so to provide your evidence.

You are shirking the question and squirming because you have made yet another wum **** up, unless you can prove otherwise ?

No one who has been "owned" as many times as you have, PIXIE, can be taken seriously. You demanding that I "answer" your question, is like being told to jiggle my ass by the slow-kid on the bus!

So you can't back up your claim then HIAG ?

Your wum **** up is complete <ok>

I have set HIAG a very simple challenge to back up his claim that 'Wenger has spent far more than us' on transfers.

He continues to bottle it.
Please refer to my previous reply.

Well we are still waiting for Pixie to answer on his Pellegrini thread, his assertion that Chelsea won the league scoring the fewest goals, let alone the shots on target stat, which piskie made up too.

Are you ever going to answer, or just carry on bottling it?

I answered that months ago, keep up <ok>

You are taking a pummelling on this issue HIAG and you know it.
However, I will offer you an 'olive-branck' so that you have no excuses not to back up your claim.

I have taken my figures from two different sources.
www.transferleague.co.uk
www.transfermarkt.co.uk

Go and work out who has spent more on transfers, then come back to me and tell me you stand by your comment that 'Wenger has spent far more than us'

If you don't agree with the figures, provide the evidence that you are using to back up your claim to the contrary.

You said that you took them from transferleague earlier and that you'd put transfermarkt by mistake.
Apologies, the transfermarkt link was on the bottom of another article regarding Levy's spending compared to Wenger's and I had assumed it was transferleague. I didn't check that. I haven't looked in depth at transfermarkt, do their figures differ significantly from transferleague ?
Hmm...

Hmm...

I said that I'd referenced transferleague (because I had) but I didn't notice that one set of figures was actually from transfermarkt, so I checked with both.
Guess what ? Their figures both show that Spurs have spent more than Wenger on transfers.

I'm still waiting for HIAG to show me what evidence he is using to back up his claim that 'Wenger has spent far more than us'

You've completely changed your story from what you said earlier.
You should have just mentioned that you'd taken the figures from this:
http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...o-finally-rein-in-rivals-arsenal-8324093.html

That would also explain why you suddenly cut off, rather than your silly "I didn't do any more calculations" bollocks that you threw out instead! <laugh>
Those figures don't tally at all with the ones from transferleague, by the way.
The £62m that we supposedly spent in the 07/08 season appears to be miles out, too.

Unless you can come up with some reliable figures that can withstand the slightest scrutiny, then I'd suggest that you drop this.
It just falls apart whenever anyone takes a cursory look at it.

I didn't say 'I didn't do any more calculations' they are your words.

I have referenced two different sets of figures, one referenced by the Independent, that both show that Spurs have outspent Wenger on transfers.
If you dispute the figures, then please provide some credible figures that prove the opposite.

HIAG made the claim that the opposite was true, it is incumbent on him to back up that claim with his evidence.

I don't have to produce alternative figures to show that yours are wrong. I've already done that.
As Arsenal don't release transfer fees and haven't for some years now, I don't think that it's something that anyone will be able to prove.
We can show that you've massively outspent us on the figure that matters and that I've demonstrated matters, though.
You won't take that into consideration, for some reason. Can't think why...

'The figures that matter' ? Are you discounting transfer spending now ?

I have provided figures, even should they not be 100% accurate to the £ (there will always be some + / - margins) they both show that Spurs have vastly outspent Arsenal on transfers. The Independent have referenced Transfermarkt, the detailed figures are on their website should you wish to dispute them. Do you think that by referencing a total figure of £30.2m (Arsenal) to £219.6m (Spurs) that they would be £189.4m out ?

The point though, is that from Stan's article which was about transfer spending, HIAG made the claim that 'Wenger has spent far more than us' but has failed to back up his claim or provide any indication of what he is basing that on.

Transfer spending isn't as important as wages. I posted the link to prove it.
It's utterly obvious to anyone paying the slightest attention, anyway.

Your figures are all over the place and don't even come close to agreeing with each other.
The source that the Independent used doesn't even appear to have been accurately quoted, either.
The year that I pointed out earlier (07/08) is down as -£22.7m for Arsenal and £62.7m for Spurs.
The site itself quotes the figures as -£18.1m and £50.1m.
If he can't even get that right, then why bother with it at all?

Have you made sure that you are checking with the right parameters ? The transfermarkt site defaults to transfer and loan fee spending, which might explain the difference you are picking up on. One of the reasons for the discrepancies between for the 07/08 figures between transferleague and transfermarkt is that one has Darren Bent having been signed the season before, whilst the other has him being signed in 07/08. If the totals are added up for the same season with the same players signed, then they both come in at around £62m.

Regardless, when you add up the total transfer spending, both sites clearly have Spurs way ahead of Arsenal. I've provided figures, and whilst I agree there might be some discrepancies, the overall point they both conclude is that Arsenal's spend is well below that of Spurs. If anybody can provide credible figures that contradict this, then post them here.

The original claim however, was that HIAG claimed that 'Wenger has spent far more than us' on transfers, so it is incumbent on him to provide the evidence that he is using to make this claim.
