I'll start it off with this.......I like their manager but after that crap on Saturday, they can't really be serious about their "playoff push" can they? Did he "make a big mistake" in coming here and would he be better off going now? http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/bl...ove-for-cardiff-city-man/#AyvCzQkJ0KHq7YmZ.97
You only need to look at the amount of City players out on loan to know we are top heavy in average players, Pilks is one of our better ones and would only sell if he wants out. Not to concerned about their playoff push but if we want to be in the mix we need to get rid of a few of our 1st team squad and buy a mid-field enforcer, a pacey wing or second striker and a top notch centre forward.
I really rate Pilks and believe he could be a match winner for us this second half of the season. Subject to his previous suspect injury proneness. I'd tie him down longer term because he's one of the few we have who's potential Prem quality. As far as your second sentence is concerned Dai, about £15M should do it...........
Paper talk Sparks, loosely translated as "bollocks". I see WoL have picked up on it as well. Someone has made that up purely on the fact that Lambert managed him at Norwich. Why on earth would he go to a side in a worse mess than us unless he wants to build a career on lost causes? Getting KWJ and possibly Tamas off the books will free up around £40k per week in wages and give us some strength in the market, which could be further bolstered by completing full transfers for loanees such as Doyle and Le Fondre. Assuming Tan still wants to build and is not in complete dismantling mode of course.
Totally agree. If his aim is premiership football then he did, in effect, drop a bollock coming to us from Norwich. He's not going to make the same mistake again by going to a club in a worse position than us. Though to be fair, if he still has premiership ambitions, he'd be better off looking at a club above us with a better manager (any of them, then).
Dead right Whiffle. Perhaps his agent has got that out there as a signal to better clubs that he is on the market?
Who knows how good an idea this is but at least there's a commitment to spend to secure what appears to be our number 1 target. I know absolutely nothing about the guy so I already like him loads more than KWJ
Some good goals here. I suspect defences in the Championship are a bit tighter and we will need to continue to get the ball into the box if he is to have a chance.
Looks like someone else is after him. http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/celtic-hijack-cardiff-city-move-for-23-year-old-striker
At a reported 6 foot 5. I thought most would be headers. Pleasantly surprised with the big number of open play goals
Don't be fooled, Cornelius looked the same in clips we saw before he came to us. Anyway, as Sparks has said Celtic are after him and WoL reports we have not had a bid accepted. One positive bit of news, contrary to reports above, Blackburn have signed Elliott Bennett from Norwich - he has been on loan with the Wurzels and played well against us. That should put paid to Blackburn's interest in Pilks!!!!
A move to Celtic would in my mind be rubbish given the dire state that Scottish football is in. Its up to him though, lets not get drawn into a bidding war, if he doesnt want to come then fine. Lets spend the money on someone with commitment ,desire, speed and ability. LOL
Pilkington wouldn't have got into the Norwich team; plus he is injury prone. These you tube clips are meaningless. I remember the one on Gavin Rae. When is Idris back?
fk me blue there`s not many in that mould anymore dude, desire and commitment don't seem 2 exist these days..................I`d promote the young lads we have coming so called through>>>>>>>seems the managers we have had over the years don't have the same confidence in them tho.......which comes 2the then important part of what the fk are the coaches up 2.............from the top 2 bottom we have a club that doesn't know much about football <SO WE BE FKD IN LIMBO FOR FK KNOWS HOW MANY YEARS IN THY FUTURE>
I agree.....it was a tongue in cheek comment, and I totally agree with your statement about the youngsters GIVE EM A CHANCE bet we then see some of the attributes that we so longingly want in our team? It really does beg the question that if we arer not going to give them the chances then why do we invest so heavily in the academy. Home grown talent is a must to help the financial stability of any football club...ask Southampton!!
Makes a change for me to get my retaliation in first. Lol!!! Aber - from what I have seen it is doubtful if the current crop "youngsters" in the Development Squad will make their mark. The likes of Healey, Harris, Oshilaja etc have had some opportunities (not many I grant you) but they haven't shown they have what it takes and are likely to be moved on when their loans end. Declan John is third in line at left back and I can't see him getting in ahead of Malone or Fabio unless we have unexpected injuries/suspensions. Interestingly O'Sullivan and Barnum-Bobb are today reported as returning from their loans at Newport although yesterday's Argus said they were staying. Don't know what is happening there unless Newport can't afford them for the rest of the season. Of all the youngsters O'Sullivan has the most promise. He has done well at Newport but seems to lack some physicality having been subbed in most games at 60/65 minutes. Perhaps 2 or 3 will get a chance in the cup game on Sunday although that practice has seen us go out of the cup early in the last couple of years and we could probably use the money from a decent run or getting a Prem side in the next round. Could use the money to get the damn pitch relaid in the summer!!!!
