He'll play as much as Vorm.

If we were to address obvious gaps in the squad by continuing what has been a successful pattern, we’d look for the nearest very young potential replacements for Kane, Dier and Alderweireld. They’d be here to provide cover, and might take their places in the squad or be loaned or sold, depending on how they do.

Moussa Dembélé seems like he’d be a good fit, and much less of a risk than Berahino. I don’t know if he can play as a conventional, or old-fashioned 9, though. One of the things that makes Kane so good is that he’s very good at holding the ball up and very good at being an extra forward. We could use another Velkjovic, but I’m not sure who’s out there. (Though actually the perfect choice would be Stambouli...). Carter-Vickers may be a year away from being a good choice to replace Alderweireld, but he may be near enough and promising enough it’s tempting to give him a chance.

Under no circumstance should we buy Berahino. .. he has been ****e this season since being denied a move. Can not see his attitude adding anything to our team.
Charlie Austin mystifies me cos I am at a loss why none of the bigger clubs have made bids for him.

I'll trust Pochettino's judgment on who we go for. Please let's just get it done soon! I think that might count Berahino out as WBA are gonna make it another bloody saga if we're still interested. We've had enough time to sound them out. If they want to play silly buggers now or we can't reach mutually agreeable terms in 48 hours, then we should just walk away and get down to Fulham for Dembele PDQ,

What is it with us being linked with a striker, and then their value doubling overnight? A couple of months back it was Depoitre's value going from the £5-7m range to £14m, now fees of £12m are being touted for Dembele II - and that's likely to change, given Fulham's manager is saying he wants to keep hold of him.

The Wail is reporting that we're on the verge of signing Ebbsfleet midfielder Shilow Tracey...with an article that looks like someone copied & pasted the exact same article the Standard posted back in November. JOURNALISM!!!

Sounds like he's been eating some extremely sour grapes. Never nice to hear a player mouth off like that about their club, even if it is in a veiled manner. Irrespective of how the club treated him, he surely isn't so stupid as to not realise that the majority of academy products from any given PL team ultimately won't go on to play for that team professionally. He should be grateful that the club has given him the platform to now kick on and earn a decent salary doing something I assume he loves: not many of us are privileged enough to say that.

Agree, mentioning lawyers and saying in his head he made the decision months ago sounds poor on his part.

You can have all the talent in the world (he doesn't) but if you aren't willing to work hard and have the right attitude you won't get far.

He signed an 18-month contract extension in April. Saying he gave up months ago makes him look like an idiot.

Well said. I also have to admit that I was unimpressed with him dragging his personal life into it by somehow contriving to bring his wife's situation into the equation and blame that on Spurs. It boils down to the conversation going on on one of the other threads: If you're under contract, even a youth contract, you are obliged to honour that contract and the club is under absolutely no obligation to let you go just because you 'made your mind up' all of 5 months ago that you've had enough. I assume that's the basic reason why lawyers had to get involved.

And forgive me for sounding judgemental (it's a talent of mine <laugh>), but by my calculations he decided to leave 5 months ago, and was let go by Spurs a month ago. So his wife basically had to 'put her own life on hold' for a staggering 4 months. F***s sake lad. People out there would queue in the cold and rain for 4 months just to wear that Lilywhite shirt. Get over yourself lad.

EDIT: thank you @PleaseNotPoll for clarifying the need to get lawyers involved. If he signed the contract he has absolutely no grounds to drag the club through the dirt and lay the blame at Levy's doorstep.

I don't disagree with any of the comments. But I am glad social media came of age after I reached the age when I understood there are two things to do if you have a job. Treat everyone well and do your best, and treat everyone well, do your best, and look for another job.

No major loss in my eyes, looked like Bale but that's the best it got for him. Seems like he's somewhat hinted he weren't going to be given a chance here which seems petty considering the amount of academy players that have featured for the first team over the past 18 months. The impression I get is if you train and play well then you get a chance, regardless of name, age or reputation.

The guy has signed for the club occupying 24th place in League 2, not Barcelona. I hope he makes it but for someone who we've held at the club against his will and held back from the first team, it's pretty humble beginnings to say the least.

also a tad presumptious to claim he'll be a first team player wherever he goes next.

Is this a homage to Monty Python? There are 2 things to do when you have a job - treat everyone well and do your best. And look for another job....there are 3 things to do when you have a job....
