The article is actually him saying he's been in the clubs ear cos he think he can bully them but not with Klopp. Gerrard has a big mouth who needs to stop telling the press everything. Klopp doesn't need him... That's the thing.....he needs to show a modicum of respect for the man in charge
I would love Gerrard to do his badges and come back as a youth coach, or maybe just as an ambassador. Imagine you're a kid and you have Gerrard try to convince you to join the club. Re. Coaching - I'm not convinced he would be great - his punditry is so basic and cliche.
I think he definitely needs to be part of the club in some capacity. Klopp has his men, but Gerrard as a youth coach is a good start. A kids dream would be meet and train with Gerrard, about time some local talent came through again.
Doesn't seem the most charismatic in front of the camera but I suppose you never know what they're like behind close doors. Never seen Gerrard do any proper analysis of games in same way Carra and Neville did so can't form a real judgement but the way those 2 talk about parts of games you can see they have a managers brain in them more than someone like redknapp who just states the obvious.
Leicester look to be signing Gray from Birmjngham for 3.7m. Coukld be a bargain, very highly rated young winger.
Birmingham turned down a £4m bid from Bournemouth for him in the Summer. Then agreed a new contract with a £3.7m buy out clause, seems a bit odd. Apparently he is very fast and can finish, would not fit in with the ponderous build up type of game we are playing at the moment!
The board aren't interested in wingers, Just more players to play behind a target man and who can't shoot. Who was the last winger we bought? Downing?
Gerrard was a great player but you cannot assume that translates to great manager where the tiny details are vital. I say let him prove himself not jump to top of pile due to largely unrelated playing career. Yes believe or not playing is not related to man management or motivation or 1000 other things a top manager has to do.
Benitez, the best tactical manager w ehad, often said Gerrard isn't a very good tactical player. He playe don instinct and you had to just let him do his thing (almost like Toure for City) and stick a player or two behind him to cover for him. Now, doesn't mean he wouldn't be a good manager, he could be more a motivator than an astute technician like Benitez, however when you compare him to Carragher on screen, I know which one I'd put my money on being the better manager.
The Can't shoot comment was about the ACM players. Lallana is a soft lad who struggles to kick the ball more than 5 yards, Couts gets 1 in 10 on target and Firimino keeps hitting the woodwork or the keeper. If they can't (wont) get into the box then their long range shots need to improve drastically. But after Bentekes 1on1 against Sunderland and the open goal against Leicester I'm inclined to say he can't shoot either.
