It's complete disrespect of the competition, but more importantly the fans of QPR. The same as all of our last few managers, including the saintly Colin. They can all **** off as far as I'm concerned, and take Les and Tone with them.
I was talking with a work colleague earlier about how the FA cup final was almost the highlight of the year. It didn't matter who was in it, family & friends would gather on final day for a BBQ and a few beers and watch the game and make a whole day of it. Now I don't eve bother to watch the final, its been completely devalued, and playing the semis at Wembley is a disgrace.
don't mean to sound cynical but isn't playing so called 2 string setting the team up to fail so you can carry on picking henry?
We have this every year. Give the lads who are left out a chance, as a team though it never works, is anyone optimistic?
These fools at QPR honestly need a check up from the neck up The club is leading the delusion that we are something ... All comes from TF's promises IMO. 250m quid and we throw the FA Cup It's a disgrace... Give our place to Salford City in the future I have played in FA Cup qualifying games as a young player and they still are the biggest games I remember. Never did very well but it was a honour to play in the cup albeit at the start of the season. Who the hell do we think we are? Honestly I know I could put this club at least back on route with some dignity.... There seems no code of conduct to the press No tone of voice and little identity It's no wonder that when stories are written they make us look like idiots That can be controlled The clubs image is in tatters IMO
A wins a win and its exactly what's wrong with football to have the attitude to say forget it... We need to start winning games and if it means a new crop of players do it then great. Forest are no slouches and if in right we haven't won there for years if ever do we could also break that duck.., go out with some pride and play well, win and steam into the next league game with some momentum and pride
That's how it was in our household for FA Cup, League Cup (esp 1967) and World Cup (esp 1966), although generally just Dad and myself taking it all in. Living in Hampshire, I recall during a 1970 WC qualifying match that England were playing, our neighbour unexpectedly came to the door for something and interrupted us during the match. He was a bald headed, Walter Mitty type character who commuted to his job in London by train, an actuary I believe, always dressed in a dark suit. His name was Norman, but Dad, in our household only, had a nicknamed him Harry, likely because his surname also began with "H" and the combination rythmed off the tongue I remember Dad, in the heat of the moment, opening the front door and exclaiming, "Hello Harry, what's up", and being slightly embarrassed when we returned to the game.
I've played in FA Cup qualifiers too and they were massive games for everyone involved. I'm really not too impressed with JFH but even less impressed with the club in general.
Of the 1954 tickets we have been allocated for this match, 1163 remain unsold. Doubt there will be many more takers after the manager describes the game as an inconvenience. At least they only cost £10 for season ticket holders and £15 for non ST fans, so the piss isn't being taken quite as much as usual. The FA Cup may be dying on its feet but QPR are active participants in its murder. Shameful.
And there I was thinking we were using the second string every week Keeping the first stringers fit for a cup run Any team coming out and saying the cup is an inconvenience and putting out second teams should be fined and not allowed back the fallow year
JFH continues to impress His delusional post match comments coupled with this garbage doesn't sit well with me Here's hoping the likes of Smithies and Luongo remind everyone why the should be automatic selections for every game.
Sadly for a while now I have written off the FA cup as something we will ever go very far in due to our track record. I still love the oldest association football competition in the world and wish teams would take it more seriously. I guess this is another effect sky had when they commercialized football in 92.
Very disappointing to hear his comments. We fans have had so much negativity from successive managers regarding the 'cups'. I sometime think they purposely talk the cups down knowing our track record, however, if the manager talks it down, what the heck does that do for the players, not to mention us fans. Completely wrong attitude expressed by the current manager. As some have already mentioned, he has an opportunity to create a positive but chooses the opposite. Question - If the manager can't give a toss about this match, why the fcuk should the fans spend their hard earned coin buying ticket going to watch it? Really poor effort by the management.
Ironically if we were to beat Forest our away Championship fixture there on 30 January would be postponed as this is 4th round weekend I'm ambivalent about the FA Cup if I'm honest - particularly as I've already bought my (non-refundable) train ticket to Nottingham for 30 January
I didn't really react to JFH's remarks with anything more than a shrug yesterday, but the more I think about it this morning, the more angry I become. We're used to it from the likes of Redknapp, but this bloke's only been around five minutes - how ****ing dare he? Yes, play Smithies, Luongo, Furlong, etecetera, but do so with a positive attitude. Try and win the ****ing game, don't treat it as an inconvenience! How are these players going to feel when they take the pitch? How are the travelling supporters going to feel? If and when we do lose the game, the club should reimburse the ticket and travel costs of all those who go and JFH should apologise to them.
