Happy New Year to all members. Let's hope it's prosperous and full of winners!
I think Thomas Crapper has good each way chance on his best form (1.55) but here's a riddle - for those that like them...

Old Nick's first but 'tis his alias I seek,
Take his last letter and put in the middle.
Hear what sellers do, albeit half day a week,
For a seasonal solution, a Classic winning riddle!

Huh? Can you explain the riddle Tam? "Take his last letter and put it in the middle" had me looking for something with "sanata"???

Cheers Tam. And a Happy New Year to you and your family also. Hope you are keeping well.

Nice of you to start off the year with one so easy. You know how hopeless I am at these

Even I got that one Oddy. If you take the "n" off Satan you are left with Sata. Stick the "n" in the middle ..........

I gave up as soon as I read it. ****in' useless is me. <laugh>

P.S. And I detest cryptic puzzles too. :)

<laugh> Me too Cyc.
Not sure if it travelled Down Under but there was a Saturday night prime time program here about 30 years ago called 321 where contestants had to solve a series of cryptic riddles to win prizes and avoid the booby prize, a bin. I never understood them even after the answer was revealed. Absolute barmy program, but popular, ran for about 10 years.

You are not an Aussie, you are Yoda...

I was reading the local CAMRA rag and one of their writers has been on a round-the-world trip and stopped off in Oz to meet some ex-pat friends in Melbourne. They reckon that the Aussies do not drink what we call “dingo p***” (Fosters) anymore because Carlton beers have wiped them out. So since Fosters is brewed ‘under license’ in Blighty in the North East, should we now call it “Geordie p***”?

Old Nick can mean:
  • an English name for the Devil from Christian belief.
I believe Old Nick became a commonly used term for the Devil in English in the 1600s, some say influenced by the earlier publication of The Prince by Nicciolo Machiavelli, which is often interpreted as an evil book.

Happy New Year Tam.

Happy New Year, Bustino, to you and your family- and good luck in 2016.

I don't know. Why has your wife got you watching back to back Sharknado movies?

Because she doesn't trust me front to front. Boom boom

Ron, I'm about to start fund raising for a wonderful project I've been beavering away on for months. I'm well into a second rewriting of a script for a movie I've titled ****nado. A three mile high tornado thunders in from outback New South Wales and passes over the greater Sydney sewage system scooping up millions of tons of foul smelling turds .... I think they're called Sydneysiders. I can't say too much more at the moment, but I've had a few early pledges of support amounting to about $460 so It looks like it just might get off the ground. Remember, you heard it here first, ****nado will be on everyone's lips by the end of the year.

I was in Melbourne 15 years ago QM and even then the locals would not touch Fosters - was all VB and Carlton as I recall. Can't say I blame them <laugh>
