Starter for 10.

me and the lady have stayed in the last 3-4 new years. Do a buffet and picked at food, watched Standups, films or sitcoms while picking at food and drinking lots.

This year. We changed it. We cooked an amazing roast dinner. Now we are watching Standups and drinking! :emoticon-0105-wink:

Watched the first Russell Howard Stand up for old times. Now watching Jon Richardson: Nidiot standup. We went to see that live this year, and I laughed so much, I cried my eyes out.

To be honest I find the big NYE trip to be a load of bollocks, 'prescription fun' when we are 'authorized' to go out on one day of the year and get pissed! <laugh>

Most of us football lads are doing that every weekend come rain or shine...

Happy New Year Budgies <cheers>
Exactly how I feel mate! Happy New Year to you and the Scuzzers! :emoticon-0152-heart

And I remember when I first moved south some 40 years ago that NYE wasn't such a big deal and 1st Jan wasn't a Bank Holiday!!! <ok>

This might be my first misjudgement of a thread. Everyone seems to hate it.

Sorry, thought this would make a new convo.

Don't worry, I'm here mate.

I have young kids and no family here so we are stuffed for going out.

Don't be hard on yourself.

I have a rather dry sense of humour, or none at all.

Haven't done NYE in a pub for about 8 years, horrible job, being in a pub with 95% of the patrons being ****s that I wouldn't give the time of day to...

Now clubbing it till 6am in a good club with like minded folk and getting on the recreationals is another matter entirely, but I've got to be in a fit state to drive tomorrow morning so that's ruled out. (and I did that on Xmas eve anyway ;))

I had a cracking night with friends at home b4 heading to my local to see out yhe final 2 hours of 2015. Saw several friends down the pub who ain't always down there and several more who I suspect never leave. I'll take any excuse for more beers with friends what ever the venue or occasion so NYE works for me.
Have a great year 2016 one and all (well not all! I'm sure the binners will all be very upset to crash out of the playoffs again and lose yet more fans to glory hunting!)

Bah!

I am with you FML. Over-rated boll*cks, Mrs Thurnby and I stayed in, saw a bit more of the Detectorists on DVD, I then put on a couple of episodes of 2012 (the 2 parter where the Muslim countries were threatening to pull out of the Games) and called it a night. Life in the fast lane!
