I'd just like to add that I hope the evacuation plan worked and everyone got out. Also that the Firefighters working on this job do so safely.
My brother-in-law lives out in Dubai and works as a project manager in the construction industry . My wife has just got off the phone to him. He said this is a common problem with high rise buildings in the region. The emirates skimp on the quality of the fascias used on the outside of the buildings. The lower quality spec of the products used doesn't inhibit fire spread and would explain why this went up in a matter of minutes.

A nice clean white wine (Gavi) is doing the trick, I'm just knackered having woken up at 3 am lying on the sofa with the dog licking my face. If I last until midnight I intend to toast the New Year with Limoncello, for a change.You should fight fire with fire Stan, it works for me when I've over indulged.
I'm feeling knackered after a block of night shifts and a couple of overtimes this week. Kids are determined to stay up and see the fireworks, with a couple of Disney movies planned before hand.....
Think my drink of choice is gonna be Vodka and Ginger Beer......wish me luck lads....think I'm gonna need it :-(

I like a good firework display, but I'm getting increasingly pissed off with people round my way letting them off what feels like every night of the week, starting from dusk. Not even nice displays just bangs. Been going since 5 this evening and the dog, neurotic at the best of times, is a nervous wreck. Save it till midnight and do it properly, pyromaniacs.

Done too much of the first one during my rave years mate, and as I'm training for 'Tough Guy' in January .....the second one is gonna be off limits for a month.....
