Sad to hear that Lemmy from legendary heavy metal band Motorhead has died from cancer at just 70. I know that 'Metal' is not everyone's cup of tea but it was certainly mine in the eighties.

R.I.P. Lemmy <rose><rose><rose>

Not my sort of music either but Lemmy and his mates lived across the road from me on Willesden Lane in the early eighties. I seem to remember one party where they let off a load of fireworks inside the house. Amazing he made it too 70 really. God Bless

Again not my sort of music but admired the honesty and the fact that he did not take himself or the music too seriously - he stripped it of pretension and believed he was playing 'rock and roll' - I always liked this!

Really sad news - I was absolutely gutted to wake up to this news this morning. Not only a huge figure in metal but also in the punk scene.

RIP

RIP Lemmy, growing up in the eighties as a bit of a metal head I had a number of Motorhead albums and he will go down as a metal great. Lived life like his music by all accounts, fast and very loud!

Bah!

Indeed Thai!<ok>

The Space Ritual Live is still one of my favourite albums, Hawkwind at their best, met Nik Turner a few times, shared a spliff or two with him back in the day, top geezer and great sax player, last saw him about 6 years ago at a Space Ritual gig in Christchurch, had a drink with him and he had the temerity to kiss mrs welly! <grr><laugh>
