Following yesterday's last-gasp defeat at Ipswich Town, the R's will be keen to right the wrongs of the final 15 minutes of the fixture at Portman Road, and with it, register Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's first victory in the QPR hot-seat.
Leading on the stroke of half-time through Junior Hoilett, the Hoops deserved more in Suffolk, but their failure to kill off the Tractor Boys when leading 1-0 ultimately proved decisive, as first Jonathan Douglas, and then Luke Chambers - in stoppage time - condemned Rangers to a first defeat under the Dutchman.
Huddersfield, meanwhile, were busy toasting a Boxing Day success at home to Preston North End.
David Wagner - who arrived at the John Smiths Stadium in early November in the wake of Chris Powell's departure - saw his side triumph 3-1 against North End, thanks in part to Nakhi Wells' double.
That win was the Terriers third in five outings, a run of results that has seen them climb out of the Championship relegation zone into 19th place, three points clear of the dreaded drop zone.
