As no-one seems to want to talk footy on here any more (see Leeds board), I thought it might be time for a bit of 'what do you know of Bermondsey'. As you are aware, I grew up in Verney Road in the late forties and fifties and i remember a lot of the pubs in the area, most (all?) of which are now gone. How many do you remember? I'll give you the names, you supply the road/street where they were located.

Gloucester Arms, The Windsor, Beehive, Turk's Head, Dun Cow, Trafalgar Arms, Prince Imperial, Lord Nelson, Apples and Pears, Barkworth Arms, The Forester's Arms, Lord Wellington, Thomas A'Becket, Blue Anchor, Colleen Bawn.

There's a start. Want to add a few? There may possibly be some new ones that have opened since I left.

Well that went well and stirred up some hive of activity <doh> Better off starting thread on our forum or any other forum for that matter<ok>
