But surely they're innocent. They said so, and we should believe such fine, honest, upstanding pillars of the football community.

The sun shining, the green and yellow looking so bright. The depressed Ipswich fans and players. It was all there!

Well, look like Arsenal are going to run out winners of tonight's match against Citeh!!! Edit - just seen that Citeh have scored!!
Could this finally be Arses year? My money would still be on Citeh of those that appear still in contention, but I'd love it if Leicester beat them. Bah!
I'd like to see Arsenal win it. All the fans moaning for so many years. Then a few cups and a league win. They will all come out as "Supporting Wenger all along". Then see him step down with a title in his hands, and next season they finish 5th!
**MAMMOTH POST ALERT** - General Melchett look away now I'd also like to see Arsenal win it, though I would very much like to see Leicester finish top four. A couple of pages ago I pointed out Leicester's results last season that lead to their supposedly "miraculous" run of form. The point I was trying to make was that, in isolation, none of their results were that surprising. What's been incredible is that they have maintained their form and ruthlessness. Here is a summary of their results this season, which see them majestically top of the league: Beat (at home): Sunderland, Villa, Crystal Palace, Watford and Chelsea Drew (at home): Man U, Tottenham Lost (at home): Arsenal Beat (away): West Ham, Norwich, West Brom, Newcastle, Swansea and Everton Drew (away): Bournemouth, Stoke and Southampton So - pick a result out of their in isolation which you think is unusual? I think probably only beating (a) Chelsea at home and (b) Everton away. The former, to be fair, was against a team in disarray and in virtual open mutiny against their manager, so Leicester were in the right place and the right time. Against Everton they got some lucky breaks, but still did well and that is probably their standout win. Funnily enough, both of those results have come in the last two games, with their confidence high and which has lead them two points clear at the top. So you could argue that until that point they had achieved no results which were extraordinary. There are a couple of results that look very good (beating West Ham away, though even we should have managed that, and draws against Man U and Tottenham at home and Southampton away (despite their poor form) are strong results). That shouldn't take anything away from them - the way they have maintained that form is incredible, with only the crushing defeat to Arsenal (probably the only other consistent form team in the league) being their bad performance. But the key is they have played to the maximum of their abilities virtually every game, and especially against the teams outside the "big six" they have been utterly ruthless and are reaping the rewards. We cannot expect to emulate them, but it just goes to show what we could do. It will be interesting if and when they have a bad run whether they can recover like they bounced back from the Arsenal loss this season and the Chelsea loss last - they are away to Liverpool and Tottenham and home to Man City and Bournemouth in the next four games - tough games except perhaps Bournemouth but they are in good form. Then they have a tough first three matches in February followed by a game against us. Their final tough stretch is away to Man U, home to Everton and away to Chelsea in the final three games. It will be interesting to see how they ride those tough periods. I also wonder whether teams will treat them with much more respect the second time they play them, which will in turn mean Leicester find the opposition deeper and harder to break down. A fascinating season!
It is remarkable that none of the big established four are really firing on all cylinders, although to be fair Arsenal are almost. Citeh look short and I have never rated Pellegrini. I think that the European toll (which they have not had for some years) may take a further pull on their resources and they will be top 4 but not champions, runners-up at best. Man Utd look flat and it will need a spark for them to make the top 4 at all. As for Chelsea, there is no way they can make it and a Europa place is their best shot at anything barring a cup run. That means that there is every chance that Leicester will be in the top 4 IMO and the big question is along with Arsenal and Citeh who else will make it? Common sense tells me that Tottenham are favourites but I would not rule out Palace as they are not going away. As has been said above, a fascinating season and that is before we look at the relegation picture. Surely the grom reaper has already called at Villa Park, they are too far behind too many teams and although any one or possibly two teams can capitulate, they need three and that is unlikely, particularly as they are all picking up some unexpected points. Sunderland have changed their manager and had thier bounce and are still suffering. Allardyce has never been relegated but this could well be the year, they need to improve very soon. So who is the third candidate? The second half v Everton and the win at OT has certainly changed the whole picture for me and whatever happens we will be in with a shout of survival. Newcastle are a strange mix but despite McLaren's best efforts I cannot see them going down. Swansea? They look out of sorts but they have the quality to get out of trouble but need to hit the net more often and until that changes they appear favourites. Surprise package of the month are Bournemouth who now cannot put a foot wrong now and with some of their injured players coming back might have enough. The one team I am looking at as possible candidates are West Brom. Again, like Allardyce, Pulis has never been relegated but could this be the season. they do not have much going for them lately and had we have beaten them at CR we would be above them! Interesting times ahead.
Last couple of weeks bizarre results have pulled West Brom right into the mix having looked well safe since beating us
Colin Murray said on Talksport, the Arsenal fans are dreaming of Arsene winning the title, deciding to step down, on a high, and Pep take over at Arsenal. That really would be a dream plan. I think Pep would love to run Arsenal. I think he would respect the way the club plays and the kind of players they go for, their philosophy. I just don't think with Peps wages, and the way Arsenal never really go out spending when they need to. That would probably put him right off. Arsenal were always the English Barcelona with the way they played the game. Unfortunately with the development of Man City, the way they ave built a squad, and the money they can throw around. They now look like the English Barcelona in waiting. I also think Pep would want a sure thing. Barcelona and Bayern were easy jobs really, they were already set up to dominate. For the romance and the interest it will bring, putting Arsenal in a position to fight the money of Chelsea, Man City and United, I'd love to see that. My head just says, Man City is all set up for him to stroll in and smash it.
Sorry FML but there's no way I would ever want Arsenal to win the League. The reason ? They have the most arrogant disrespecting fans in the land, worse in fact than Man Utd.
Sorry, off at a bit of a tangent here. Just been racking my brains to no avail (again), can anyone remind me who was the poster (I don't THINK they post on here any more, but I could be wrong) who had Arsenal as his 2nd team and would always defend them etc?? Someone will remember I'm sure..
I can't say I remember Fleet but what I will say is that no real football supporter has a 'second' team IMO, those who claim to have one are the type who buy 'half and half' scarves
