There is nobody right now bar none I'd swap for him either he's the form player of the league bar none.
I've not btw seen too many like vardy about honestly. His work rate and pace is as good as your favorite Tevez ol greez old son.
Southampton set themselves up to sell as a business model ... we haven't ... the Chairman has stated that 'King Power's' ambition on promotion, was European football within 5 years and a commitment to invest £180 million to achieve it ... we haven't sold anybody we wanted to keep since they acquired us ... so I'll take them at their word until events prove differently ... if we sell I'll take it on the chin .. with some sadness ... but it wasn't that long ago that I sat in the home end at Hereford United in our title winning season in League 1 ... and that is why they can do no wrong in my eyes .. this is dreamland.
On Mahrez... I posted this on our board earlier... Eden Hazard 2014/15: 14 goals, 10 assists - PFA Player Of The Season Riyad Mahrez 2015/16: 13 goals, 7 assists... And it's only Christmas!!
It won't be a case of you not wanting or needing to sell. The players will force their move if a bigger club comes in. As you say, enjoy the ride and enjoy the big transfer fee that will come in.
With the position Leicester are in, I don't think either will move in January. Vardy is older so I could understand it if it did happen, he'd probably see it as his last chance to move to a big club (no disrespect to Leicester). However, achieving with Leicester would be much more honourable than simple moving to a bigger club to achieve something. Mahrez is young though. He will still get the opportunities if he waited until the summer.
I always find that amusing, when a 'non-big club' discovers a gem of a player and they go around saying 'we ain't sell, we don't need to'. As soon as the 'big clubs' come knocking these players want to be off, its not just the CL or wages its also the prestige of playing for said clubs and knowing they are going to be in the title hunt every season. But as fans we've all been there, we've all had players we wanted to stay but have left for big money. As for Vardy and Mahrez, they wont be going anywhere in Jan, but in the summer.... who knows.
John Stones, Saido Berahinho ... but it also depends on the commercial priorities of the owners..as I mentioned earlier ..our current success is worth more commercially than short term gains from transfer fees ... so zI'm optimistic that none of our crown jewels will move before the summer at. Least ..and even then only if the players themselves force for a move ..
Berahino will be off in the window, plus have you seen his form since being told he can't move? Add to that he wont sign a new contract so West Brom will miss out on any big money if they don't cash in soon. Stones, Everton are a more establish team than yourselves (sorry but its true) and even then they have only managed to fend one big club off (Chelsea) for one window and that was only a couple of weeks at the end. See what happens when others become interested and its over a whole summer, Man U are already supposed to be looking at Stones. The feeling is that Everton will eventually cash in. Its a sad fact that the big clubs will hoover up anyone who has a good season. Mahrez will be sold in the next couple of years. Vardy you have a better chance at keeping due to his age.
Both younger than even Mahrez though. Their value was only ever going to increase. Same could be said for Mahrez but not Vardy because of his age.
I see the refusal to sell has worked so well for stones and Everton. .. Berahino is a terrible example cos he's been rubbish since. Spurs messed up leaving it so late. Simply put unless chelsea pony up mad cash Leicester are safe til may. After that it's not if it's when.
Interesting stat: Klopp got rid of 14 players in his first season at Dortmund Signed 9 and promoted 2 youth players. This guy will not mess about with the squad.
Marko Grujic agrees LFC contract ahead of £5m move. Medical this week. He will be loaned back to Red Star Belgrade for a loan fee of £730k.
