If we were having a bad period and were down in 8th place then I would agree.
But these same players won the title.
How do you go from that to relegation candidates in a few months?

Easy, Terry is old, similar massive downward trajectory happened to Rio who was class and G Neville.

Ivanovic has lost it. Dave is having to compensate for Terry. Hazard cannot be ****ed. You never know what you are going to get from Costa and we are still trying to carry Fab and are probably down to less than 10 men when he is on the field as if he cant pass which he cannot do, he just lets people run past so is essentially leaving a massive hole which someone would cover.

Its obvious that Mourinho has lost the respect of some of the players who will now not play for him following the Eva incident so not only have you got players who have dropped off a cliff in performance, you have another few players who cannot be ****ed to play for Jose. Frankly either some of these squad players go or Jose has to go its that simple. I would prefer Jose to finish the job with us if he grows a set of balls and plays some of the youth players who would frankly play for him as this would be their chance,

If we aren't going to give Jose his chance to redeem himself, i hope to god we don't pick another god boring defensive coach and actually have someone who actually has to balls to attack. Certainly not an LVG though whos version of attacking is passing it back to his keeper

Whilst, as a fan, I think Jose handled it terribly, and he went down in my estimations because of it, why would the players give a solitary **** about some doctor leaving the club, I have never heard of a club having a meltdown through a physician leaving.
And I certainly cannot see players just deciding they would rather be relegated than play decent football because of it.

Usually when the defending champions have out of form players, or a slump in results, or are going through a transition, then a drop in performance is expected.
United dropped to 7th whilst defending champions after losing one of the best managers in football history and ageing players like Rio.
You are trying to tell me that chelsea are on the verge of getting themselves relegated because JT is old and we lost a doctor?

This slump in the form of Fab, Hazard and Costa most likely does stem from either wanting to leave, or some beef with Jose.....either way, its a horrid lack of professionalism and it angers me!

Exactly this! As I said earlier, some players need and want to go. Get rid and I'm sure results will improve as a lot of the players will probably be glad to see the back of them.

Not sure i wholeheartedly agree but maybe I'm being sexist but if your player mate got dropped and sold you can kind of see why maybe the guys not fitting into tactics and all. However this is part of the football game.

Secondly i think you can see the players were fond of her for whatever reason at least thats the impression i got. Whether you believe it in or not but she is also a women hence the media treatment she got and im sure her close mates see her as one as well, a bit like a fight between a man and a man or a man and a woman and because of this certain players have lost respect for jose.
It was the first game of the season but our form has fallen off a cliff and we are not even our usual solid self since this debacle. Coincidence? I dont think so. As blueman says certain players look like they want out. They were playing pretty hard last year, no one asked for moves during the summer and now they dont want to play for jose all of a sudden? To be fair we were ****e before the Eva thing. We had one of the worst pre seasons I can remember and whilst winning games, our performances towards the back end of last season were also poor. I think we only won one league game by more than a goal post that 5-0 Swansea drubbing in January!

For me, we dragged ourselves over the line last year and were nowhere near as good as our previous teams that won the league (baring the initial few games). The same players have since believed their own hype and haven't worked as hard as they did last year, form has suffered and the snowball effect occurred. Costa admitted he started the season not fit enough...how is that allowed to happen with a 150k a week footballer at the champions.

I think many will agree as well, that for everything we did right in preparing for the 14/15 season, signings, pre season etc. we did completely wrong for this one.

The time to have played youth was at the start of the season; it's too great a risk, now.

Having said that, I doubt that any player on your books can play as badly as Hazard and Fabregas... and I'm including your ladies in that statement!

Harsh but truthful - the problem is that blooding youngsters is Jose's Achilles heel, he is like a Ferrari: it costs a lot of money to keep him serviced.

Agreed - as I have said previously the warning signs were there in that drubbing at the Lane, the rout at West Brom and the endless 1-0 thrashing so we handed out. Anyone, apart from those wearing blinkers and rose-tinted glasses knew the squad needed to be refreshed (I can see you sneaking out the back Mr Emenalo). I would be gobsmacked if our fortunes suddenly took a 180 degree turn....looks like a slow crawl to safety if we're lucky.

Talk of Eva coming back now as well. Would make a lot of sense and help to improve morale and negative press over this issue.

I suspect as much too.
I am hoping City win the league to be honest. Because with Van Gaal having a season left on his contract, City is the only other option if Pellegrini goes.
They'll find it hard to sack him if he wins the league.

I am mostly curious to see how Pep does in the PL.
I am not his biggest fan to be honest. But I would love to see if he can replicate what he did in Spain here.

Well whoever he comes to in England will be prematurely sacking their manager (jose already of course) so it wont make a lot of odds. He obviously likes to move around a bit as well. He's probably looking at a 2-3 year stint in England then on to the next job. Whether that be a PSG or more likely back to Barca.

I think all 3 (Chelsea and the mancs) could make a case for him coming. Don't think it'll be us but could City really sack their manager if he wins them the league again?!!?

If he wants it easy, thats United and Chelsea ruled out.

Thats kinda why I am hoping they win the league, means they will find it harder to get rid of Pellegrini, and I would like to see how Pep does here or at United when he isn't pretty much handed the best team in the world at that time on a plate, as he was at Barca and Bayern.
I knew he has a big hand in nurturing those players with Barca's youth team, but that coaching, not managing.
Would love to see how he fared at Chelsea or United, were some actual work was required to get the team to the top.
