Weren't best pleased with Coutinho either, got to get your head up - his biggest strength is his vision and eye for a pass and he was completely neglecting that yesterday and going for glory.

Obviously eager to please after being out and have no problems with people having a go but 4/5 25-30 yarders when it's just not happening - pack it in!!

He often does this when he has no one decent to pass to. We saw the same with Suarez before we bought Sturridge and Coutinho.

    He doesn't trust Benteke.

He had good passes to make though, he never looked up, something I have criticised him for last season. Benteke was free 8 yards out yesterday with the defender with an eye on cout as well as Benteke, count could have played him in easily and took a weak ass shot instead.

Cout just does not score enough goals to justify his hungry shooting so much

Lallana and Milner were also guilty, in fact anyone that had the ball in around the 18 yard area was primarily looking for a shooting opportunity, that's not playing as a team and playing for the team. That's why we dropped 2 points yesterday

That's a poor excuse to try and justify crap decision making.

Benteke is **** though. He's rarely in space and what's he gonna do with it? He can't beat a man, he has no acceleration, he has no left foot.

There was one moment when Coutinho beat his man and took a shot, and Benteke complained. But Benteke was being marked and did little to lose his marker.

I do agree that if the man is free, pass it. But the issue is that our players don't trust Benteke. It's the same at international level - the likes of Hazard and De Bruyne avoid passing to him.

Yep I agree - Benteke hinders the attack. Rightly or wrongly, he does.

It's not an excuse - it's the reason. Righty or wrongly.

It's not the reason. It's merely you trying to justify some crap decision making from one of your favourites that has the added benefit of sticking it to a player you're not having.

Coutinho's stats in regards to key passes and assists is bang average this season. Milner has as many assists (3) and has averaged 2.1 key passes per game to Coutinho's 1.5. Not great for a supposed "Wurrrrld class" No.10 like....<whistle>

Funny that, Coutinho passes a lot more when he had sterling, Suarez and Sturridge around him. You know, actual quality players.

Like I said, it's not an excuse. It is poor not to pass to someone who is in a good position. The reason he does it because he doesn't trust the big oaf.

You are seeing it wrong, Benteke is a player type, a horse for a course, or a style of play. If we are going to play him we need early whipped in crosses and balls to feel in the box. That's where he will get you goals. Yesterday with WBA siting back after scoring the second, they were ripe for the plucking cos they decided 1 2 was more than they hoped for. The usual mentality stuff.

That was when we should have been shelling their 6 yard box with ammo for Benteke and anyone who may pick up some pieces from him. But we had no one just outside their area to puck up knockdowns, at one point we were having 5 players in their area, all square, waiting for crosses, meaning one clearing header negates 5 of our attacking players.

Coutinho's runs if used properly should be creating space for benteke, not benteke creating shooting space for cout, out of the two of them I know who Id rather be doing the shooting, so we need to use our flair players to create, not the other way around, ie provide. Otherwise why play Christain? He's the man you want taking on the keeper. I dont mean in every circumstance, but in general that is what COut should be doing, beating a man, committing another and creating space, but defenders now know he is gonna cut inside and try curl one into the far corner, predictable imo, too predictable. Cout is the kwey in games like this, but to make space, not run and shoot, he's too much more to offer and has shown this but in games like this one yesterday, he needs to look to create not look for all the glory

Lallana is almost a quality player, he's just missing "something", killer instinct maybe, maybe someone needs to kick a boot at him to get the best out of him :bandit:

Told you this himself has he?

Or is it just a convenient conclusion to reach given the way you laud one and berate the other?

Cout is there to do a job, and trust is not an issue, if cout cannot follow orders then he's a liability no matter how good he is

klopp is trying to reinvent the club cos frankly (whisper this but) the anfield noise has been way off what it once was and the tourists have no clue.

I would say the grim reality of 6th place has sunk in with klopp and he'll try to win a cup this year if he can. League cup will be tough one. FA cup needs a lot of luck. at least we are i nthe semi on the league cup.

the europa we have no chance.

Nope - just making an education assumption based on fact. When he has quality players around him, he picks the right pass.

When he doesn't, he does everything himself.

And you're not getting it - I've told you that I don't agree with his reasoning, it is poor decision making. The decision to not pass is poor.

Benteke is at odds with how we play. Having said that, we still did put in a lot of crosses, soMe of which were poor and others where he simply didn't move or even jump for it. We also played a lot of long diagonal balls to him as wel to feed off.

We actually are playing to his natural style more than we think.

Personally, I don't think Benteke will last beyond the summer. We are short of options at the moment. Far too limited.

It is an issue. When you're playing footy and your only option is to someone who you know won't do anything with it, you will try and find an alternative. It's natural.

And it's a big reason why Benteke hinders our attacks.

    couts is ****.

benteke is a brilliant player. not seeing many everton fans beratiing lukaku for missing 3/4 then getting one. The issue with LFC is the players around benteke aint good enough period.

We don't have a way we play we have a bunch of gimps who do their own thing and hog the ball. Benteke would have a queue a mile long to take him off our hands if we were mad enough to follow jimmys transfer policy which seems to be love balotelli hate his replacement <whistle>
