Polish cyclist shockingly rides into path of high-speed train - and survives

A Polish cyclist sped into the path of a high-speed train and incredibly survived with only minor injuries. Remarkable video footage released by Poland’s national railway company shows the cyclist pass a lowered barrier, and cycle right up to the railway track. Just as the bike appears to touch the track, a Pendolino locomotive - which can reach speeds of 180mph – whizzes past. In it’s wake, the 26-year-old cyclist can be seen lying motionless at the side of the track. The footage, taken near the southern Polish town of Opole, then moves immediately to show the incident from the other side of the train. This angle shows how the cyclist is dramatically flung into the air, spinning and crashing to the ground. His body appears to be lifeless – but the man, who has not been named, survived. The incident happened on November 5 but was released by the national railway company, Polskie Koleje Panstwowe, on Wednesday as a “lesson in how not to cross the tracks”. “It’s important for all road users, not matter what their means of transport, to take special care at level crossings,” said Miroslaw Siemieniec, a company spokesman. Airbus is planning a hi-tech aircraft which could blast passengers from London to New York in just one hour.
The company today filed a second patent for the supersonic AS2 plane - describing the huge rocket engine which will hurl passengers to 3,425mph.
The new aircraft will travel at Mach 4 - four times the speed of sound, powered by a rocket engine, turbo jets and ‘ramjets’.
It could fly as early as 2023, according to reports.
The hypersonic craft patented by the company would travel twice as fast as Concorde - flying at an altitude of 100,000 feet.
A patent describes a vehicle powered by three different types of engine - and capable of a vertical climb at take-off.
Twin turbo jets would help the jet to climb at take-off, retracting into the fuselage as the jet sped towards the sound barrier.
A rocket motor then takes the plane to an altitude of 100,000ft, where twin wing-mounted ramjets push it to its final speed of 4.5 times the speed of sound.

Tits aren't big enough
there is no way that pictured airplane could possibly fly that fast. the tail plane alone never mind the wing angles will preclude it. the blackbird spy plane and concorde itself shows the issues of the speed. even at 100,000 feet on the edge of space they thing would melt.
a jet to say 30k feet like normal then somehow those hot enines are retracted into the body safely without the airplane falling from the sky and then a rocket to 100k.... ehhhhhh... not with a tail plane from a cessana

SR 71 . My sister's ex was an RAF groundcrew in Lincolnshire, and they sometimes workred on it (Official Secrets Acts, and all that). They had to use rubber coated tools (without batteries, before you say it!) because whilst it was in the hangar after landing it seeped aviation fuel all over the show. Evidently it was designed that the titanium skin on it expanded in the heat at high altitude and sealed itself.
As amazing as the XR-15 that Armstrong flew, in many ways.
I had a Revel 1/72 model kit when I was a kid. presumably the Soviets did too. Think the Mig 25 Foxbat had similar issues too. I read somewhere.
