Mackay have also revealed he has made enquires with Nottingham Forest over the availability of centre-back Luke Chambers.

The 25-year-old, voted Forest's players of the year last season, recently voiced his concerns over the number of players to have left the squad during the close season.

Not a done deal as yet

Forest have rejected the approach according to the manager at this morning's press conference.

True, true, but also when was the last time we lost 12 or 13 players. I hope we will get a couple of premier league loans to come in to compliment the squad as well. Also the wallet has yet to really come out so far considering we are supposed to have funds available.

Absolutely right Ace. When I said "active" I meant in and out!

It all seems very close to starting from scratch - and I suppose it really is. In some ways, I guess it has a chance of working for us in terms of a new manager being able to recruit players for the style he wants to play - fewer old, bad habits to deal with!

I think we fans are going to have to be considerably patient.

I think MM knows exactly what he wants and how he is going to get it. I am hoping that he has all this young talent and that as the Premier players are released for loans and whatever he is already there talking to the clubs about those he would like. He may already be talking to the Managers and clubs he knows anyway.
A few good loanees (2 or 3, not 7 lol) to pull this lot together and all of a sudden it will be a team to contend with.
    go for it MM.

    Good to 'see' you Cling.

Last time we were this active was the season DJ arrived. He sold the crown jewels and brought in a load of journeymen. Took us 10 games before we atarted to play. I think the numbers are similar, but I believe we are in a better position now.

After selling Kav, Ginge, Gabbs and others we finished higher than when we had them. MM repeating that feat would be nice!

Hudson's had a few injuries since he's been with us, Gyepes can be a liability on his day and Blake might be considered more full back/midfield cover - which could leave us with only 2 reliable CBs. A bit of bad luck could see us start conceding badly again. I'd be happy to see Gyepes leave and a new CB come in, would prefer a youngster with some potential though instead of a journeyman backup. Chambers could well have his best years ahead of him so I'd be more than happy to have him here.
