A couple of points. Not really looked properly but these are eye catching to me: (i) Olofi (1.10) looks interesting off a career low mark of 129. Not done much recently but this perch gives him an ‘eck of a chance in a ‘class3’, and (ii) Old girl Venetia runs one from 10 lbs out of the handicap (1.45). What’s she up to?!? This isn’t her usual modus operandi.
I backed Josies Orders lto but I'm all over Any Currency as there is a massive 23lbs pull in the weights.5/2 seems a decent price
Really like On His Own against this field and at 12/1 is worth a little risk. Blaklion is my bet of the day, whilst A Hares Breath is a close second. Druids Nephew then the longer priced Come On Ginger to make it a glorious day.
Don't think weight matters too much in these races and Josies orders made a bad mistake and was slightly hampered turning for home
With you on Blaklion looked good before falling but can't be having On His Own looks like a horse on the decline ! First time over these fences at Cheltenham can't see them sparking any improvement on him but if they do he is the horse to beat so there is always that
JAMESIE 7/2 Dundalk 8.30. Ran super in a listed contest last time. Very consistent. Must have a good chance in a weaker contest.
Can't be having Nicholls at all right now. Gone for some Each ways at Chelters. Onenightinvienna Hayjack The Romford Pele - Ran on nicely last time out, has abit of class about him. On his own - He has needed his first run every season will prove better.
Also fancy A Hares Breath who ran away with his last start over CD easily, should win again despite the 12lb rise
Looking forward to another great days racing at HQ . My fancies are 12.00 blaklion 12.35 cruchain 1.10 solstice star 1.45 mon parrain 2.20 any currency 2.55 flintham 3.25 drumlee sunset Two big price selections cruchain and the lightly raced mon parrain are horses I've backed and won on course before, and should relish conditions. So give them a swerve, and let's hope dickie Johnson doesn't get mugged off by drumlee sunset once again. Cheers.
A Hares Breath was impressive here last time but has been thumped by the handicapper 2/1 looks very skinny. I think I would rather be on last years winner STARLUCK who races off similar terms and looks a bit of value at around 14's. I wouldn't be surprised if Olofi was on the premises again either looking at his current mark. I might even try the tricast!
