What ever happened to Arsenal's Champions League challenge?

Discussion in 'The Premier League' started by Treble, Sep 29, 2015.

  1. No, I'd have written a thread predicting how, even if you did manage to sneak into the knock-out stages, it wouldn't do you any favours, at all, as you'd only be laying yourselves open to slaughter and abject humiliation, later on.

That is to be contrasted starkly with a harmless thread seeking posters' views on a hypothetical meeting in the EL, between Arsenal and Spurs.

You really have not thought this one through, have you, PIXIE!

    [shakes head in sad disblief]

You never know UIR, they may get through.

If they do there are a couple of easier QFs on offer too, winner of Benfica v Zenit St Petersburg, Gent v Wolfsburg...

If Arsenal, City or Chelsea get through and knab an easy QF we could even see an English club in the semis this season.

City are fourth favourites to win comp, Chelsea seventh.

Arsenal a good long shot at 40-1? Chelsea 20s, City 10s

This is what The Gooners have waiting for them very shortly...scary! <yikes>

Bit of nostalgia for you Pool fans too. The Barca fans call Suarez 'El Pistolero'. Rough translation, The Gunslinger

  16. ...and Valencia are a far, far better side than Arsenal!

They are going to be clinging on for dear life - again!

It's going to be fasinating to watch, even though - as an Englishman - I know the entire experience is going to leave me feeling soiled and ashamed.

    ... another Public School flashback?

... purely out of interest ... what makes you think "Valencia are a far, far better side than Arsenal" ... they are currenty languishing in 12th place in La Liga?

I think Gary needs to go back to the drawing board. He got it completely wrong. Nevertheless, watching that, those three are just something else. Any one of them would give any side headaches, all three of them are your worst nightmare!..

  19. You are a conundrum, Fossil. Sometimes you act as though you understand the rules of wum-engagement, and other times you seem to be completely lost!
