On Humberside, AP has mooted the possibility of a combined FC+HKR representative team playing matches. Lead balloon's springs to mind.
He mentioned a one off game against England. He couldn't have stressed more that merging the two clubs was a non-starter.
This is only a guess, but I don't see the fans of either rugby club taking to this idea. Let's face it, they don't like each other and in particulair I don't see HKR fans buying into this and watching a combined Hull side at the KC stadium. As usual, I may well be wrong. Perhaps it's all they've ever dreamed of.
Why should the takeover mean the clubs are merging? It would be the biggest mistake the board of either club could make. I wouldn't support it and there would end up with a new hull fc and rovers teams set up as amateur clubs. It's like saying man u and man city or arsenal and spurs are gonna merge it would never happen in a month of sundays.
It would be nothing like those massive clubs merging. More Hartlepool and Darlington or Brentford and Leyton Orient. With about as nuch interest nationwide.

NO SURPRISE AT ALL AND MAKE GREAT SENSE. LOCAL MEN OWNING LOCAL CLUBS Adam has confirmed on Burnsies am show that he will still have James Rule and co. doing the day to day running of Hull FC. It should not hinder Adams work at City at all. WHY SHOULD IT ? Its a good move and as Adam says, all 3 clubs will be kept seperate as it should be but all 3 can work better together off the pitch. ie. sponsors - season tickets etc etc Commercially it can be great news. As to the day to day operations nothing will change. Adam said he will add extra investment and that is the one thing FC do need.
It would be great to start the new era with a packed house on Sunday against Leeds ................................................................................................................................................. thought he would have done some research before buying
Sorry but thats rubbish. Wont happen as Adam has confirmed. Its all to do with getting the KC stadium. Period.
Who's Hull FC's biggest earner? Will he be frozen out of the team? At least Hull FC don't have a successful coach, so there'll be no worries about him keeping his job. I'm so glad my loyalties lie with Rovers.
I think it's a superb idea. A combined Hull side against Australia or New Zealand would attract a massive crowd to the KC.
That has already happened prior to Adam Pearson taking over. FC have a bigger drinking culture than most hence why they fail every season. WEED OUT THE BOOZERS. You can no longer get away with what the likes of Knocker Norton did. lol.
In all honesty it's likely to fall flat on it's face like all the other Rugby League ideas, Magic Weekend, the Exiles, Harlequins, international Rugby League in general. I (unfortunately) know Rovers fans who are hesitant to cross the river, nevermind enter the KC. It'd be a terrible, terrible idea, with nobody there, but with Eddie Hemmings claiming "what a fantastic night for Rugby League" EVERY TWO SECONDS.
Of course not based on size of the teams, though both bigger than the four clubs you mention, but on the history and tradition of a great rivalry existing between two great clubs in their sport. Its not gonna happen now or anytime in the future nor are Hull gonna play it caravan park. Its all to do with the purchase of the kc, or we're all reading too much into this and adam just wants to buy Hull as his next business venture.
