MONK HAS GONE "The decision has been made very reluctantly and with a heavy heart," said chairman Huw Jenkins. "To find ourselves in our current situation from where we were in the first week of September, and considering the drop of performance levels and run of results over the last three months, it has brought us to this unfortunate decision today." A club statement said the Swans were now "reluctantly" starting a search for a replacement. BBC Link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34762862
Wonder where he'll land Phil , probably in the Champioship somewhere and try to work his way back. One things for sure , he will never be handed an opportunity than Jenkins handed him , he'll really have to earn his way after Swansea .
That's true Roofer, but Monk has a lot of connections in the game not least from his Southampton days, he'll probably start in L1 or the Championship..... The Hunt is on for a new Gaffer!!...................
Surely they would have been looking over the last few weeks with how bad it has been. Hope he gets this right. Isnt the Fulham job still going maybe he will be straight back into another job.
I think Clotet might be given a short chance to see what he can do which will give the club time to pick the right man if he fails .
Who do you think Huw will go with? Someone completely new to freshen things up, or maybe bringing Rodgers back to stabilise things? Clearly Monk didn't want to be understudy to anyone...............
Why would we give the job to a man who probably is as much to blame as GM, as he is heavily involved in the coaching at the moment. What experience does he have at this level to take over, Yes a failed number 2. He will probably be in charge on Saturday but no further. There are some crackers on this list http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/swansea/next-swansea-manager
Sky reporting between Rodgers, Moyes and Warnurton. Moyes has said he doesn't want it, Rangers will want paying if we want Warburton and cant see us paying out to them, that leaves one.
All I'm saying is he may get a rolling game contract to give the club a bit of time to make a proper decision on a new manager , the longer he rolls the better chance he gets to roll further . Probably won't make it past Man City , if he even gets chance .
