The same is said of Neil Warnock. Great when he's on your side. And Joey's the same; a bit like the school bully - a real nuisance most of the time - but when you're up against another school - suddenly he's of value - as he's 'our' school bully meting it out to the enemy!
Whilst your debating style is, as always, needlessly aggressive, I would agree that Barton's ego (and/or stupidity) certainly contributed to his red card count and, as I said, he let us down [very] badly on occasion. However, surely anyone who saw him play regularly would agree that he CARED? I can't say I liked the bloke but when he was wound up and playing at 100% , as was usually the case, I felt that his whole-hearted approach contributed to the large of number of cards that he received. I drew attention to how this contrasted with the effort and demeanour of many of the mercenaries that he played alongside and, for this reason, I will clap him at the start of Saturday's game.
£80,000 a week at one point 43 wasted corners Disrupted dressing rooms Finally didn't get a renewed contract Played a great ball against Wednesday once before one of his passes/shots/ I cleared with my head in Z6 Ran around a lot and pulled the shape of the team apart most games I saw him. Very good against Brighton away last time however lost 2-0 All this means he will score Saturday He isn't QPR anymore so not bothered. I would say that he was up there with our worse buys . Big name but just not a very good footballer
Is there such a thing as an ironic philosophical reception? Maybe everyone should log on to his twitter account and type "booooo".......
I think Joey did a lot for the club when others didn't but in saying that, he was always one to debate things with many people, players & referees on the field and off, Twitter etc. For all intent and purposes, one may consider him one of the worlds' great mass debaters.
He only appeared to be be putting in a shift every game because he was constantly chasing his own wayward passes
Alls I know is whoever plays centre mid for us, better be up for it and on their game. Because you can guarantee that joey will.
He's small, an undisciplined tackler and he can only kick with his right foot, and not very well with that. When he has the ball cover his right side and he has to turn 180 degrees and his control is so poor he'll probably lose it. Show him the glamour pass and he will kick the ball into touch. Stand up to him in the tackle a couple of times and he will avoid you. Kick him and he will get himself sent off. Hopefully his great mate Clint Hill will share his multiple and evident weaknesses with those unfamiliar with them.
I'm running on fumes mate, two weeks of heavy work and travel with no recovery time, on top of too much fun (if such a thing is possible) in Italy. I become even more intemperate than usual in these circumstances and lash out. Fortunately (or not) the front page of this forum is pretty dull at the moment, can't find much else to have a go at. Joey ****ing Barton. Like the poor, we will never be free of him.
Fair play Stan, I'm aware your job involves quite a few overseas trips. Anyway I love your rants As for the forum I tend to notice it goes a tad quiet after we win a game, less for us to complain about
