So far under Klopp we have been successful with either Sturridge or Firmino as the CF. Both are quick, strong, skillful and creative, though Firmino is not the same goal threat as Sturridge he is good at working others, like Coutinho, into goal scoring areas. Maybe these 2 are what we need to focus on and not sign a world class striker. Ings is a very worthy and mobile CF who can be back up and add some extra goals to the squad.

I'd like to see us bring more goals from else where in the field. A goal scoring runner from midfield, a winger who scores more. A team of goal scorers.

Firmino behind Sturridge or Firmino as a false 9.

    Agreed mate.

And that is something Klopp will definitely want - everyone chips in. Can't be reliant on one player.

Rellying onone guy just falls apart when they get injured or leave. Owen, Torres, Suarez, Sturridge.

Agreed. No doubt our team will have a focal point or star players that we look to, but Klopp will create a team which is built on a system rather than the brilliance of individuals.

What do people think of Draxler? He is teasing United. Very skillfull and very unselfish. World class assists.

A lot of potential but needs to be more consistent. Will hopefully come with time.

Klopp could easily attract him or any other German youngster.

Ah well, with Sturridge injured, it probably
Means we'll be buying an attacker in January.

A while back, my mate commented saying half of Sturridge's injury problems are in his head. A faaacht obviously echoed by the Kloppster's comment.

yes i find it interesting he can come back for 60mins and score two then be off again. its like he doesn't come back to play until he's done a full training and feels sharp (nt fit, but actually sharp) others come back and look rusty.

Exactly what my pal said. He has to feel absolutely perfect, which is what Klopp meant.

Like most quick strikers he is going to have these hamstring and knee injuries here and there. But the way he just comes and goes doesnt quite add up.

Grujic could become Klopp's first signing

Marko Grujic looks set to become Jurgen Klopp's first signing at Anfield after the player himself actually revealed he is in talks with the club over a move.
Chelsea had been linked with a £3m bid for the Red Star Belgrade Star, while Inter Milan and Roma are also keen on the £5m-rated midfielder.
Liverpool scouts watched the midfielder score in Red Star's 7-2 win over Cukaricki in the Serbian Super League on Saturday and, according to the Express, they met the player and his agent for talks after the game.
Although Liverpool are keen on the player, a deal is unlikely to be completed until the end of the season.
"It is certain that I remain here until the end of qualifying for the Champions League," he said. "I had a talk with Liverpool, but I did not receive yet any agreement. I'm still a Red Star player.
"I'll try to respect the club, the fans and the general public, but I think that for myself I have to choose the best environment, where I will get the chance to play and where I work with good coaches in good conditions."
The 19-year-old is under contract at Red Star until the summer of 2018.
Grujic, who won the U20 World Cup in New Zealand this year, has scored five goals this season.
Klopp is hoping to poach one of his former players from Borussia Dortmund with Mats Hummels on his list.
The Liverpool boss signed the Germany international in 2008 and remains a key follower of his work.
According to ITA SportPress, Klopp is keen to become reunited with the 26-year-old and has contacted Dortmund about a possible transfer.
While Klopp would love to sign the midfielder sooner rather than later, it is unlikely that Dortmund would part with their captain midway through the campaign.

    Would anyone take Berahino ...

I think he's talented and would be a good fit for our attack. Price no doubt will be an issue.

  17. Regardless of his abilities / talent, I wouldn't take him because of who his agent is!

Oh yeah. Forgot about that small detail!

Another talented striker this is year is Michy, who is this years Lacazette in Ligue 1.

Arguably the most talented Belgian striker.

  19. We should be signing Pierre Aubameyang. He's still only 16yrs old (27 in June) so just about comes into our recruitment criteria for the more established players.

That ship sailed mate. Massive shame since he was a target under Comolli.

Someone like Lacazette, Michy or Volland are ideal because they play up front or out wide (if Sturridge comes back).
