Only 20 though. He needs to be given a chance, got a half decent record for a young player and was one of hottest properties after the WC for his performances in France and with Belgium

This.

Along with Sterling, he was amongst the most highly rated youngsters in Europe around 12-18 months ago.

His stats are on par with Martial believe it or not, and we only paid £10.

Completely lost his confidence in a toxic environment at Lille where the fans were on his case and he played out wide. With a bit of confidence and coaching from Klopp, his performance against Soton was very Sturridge-esque. His cameo against Newcastle was also promising.

Put it this way - with Ings out, he's my number two striker in the squad after Sturridge.

sounds good to me... we'll see if theres just an agent at play or what.

anyway on origi.... one game where everything fell for him once we were already in front is fine.. one of them was a great run and strike and thats great but..... he's not ready for the top yet. not even for our current level either.

As said. he needs time to improve and work.

Depends who else is playing for me. Coutinho and Can out? I definitely prefer him to Benteke.

Coutinho and Can in... I'd probably play Benteke... Depending on what strategy I expect the rival to take. If the opposition is playing tight I wouldn't pick Benteke.

I'd always take a fit Sturridge first when available. Ings would probably be my #2 when fit too. Sad he's missing out.

Overall Benteke is going to get more goals than Origi... But he needs someone else to create for him. He's not going to make many of his own chances.

I'm actually not convinced that Benteke will get more goals than Origi. That's the scary thing.

Benteke has missed so many sitters this season. But more worryingly, he stifles the team. We don't create or score as much when he starts, and the whole team performance tends to decline.

there is a reason why mr klopp only picked origi for the league cup and not in big games

Jimmy you need to look deep inside your soul and admit you've formed a big bias against Benteke and you have been saying things like balotelli would do better let alone origi who's a kid and needs to do better. You don't like milner either and look for everything and anything to slate both players. they are your ones and I don't like lallana or allen ever playing for us either. Klopp will just have to make do without us liking every player and get the mos tout of them and thats why he's worth the massive wage packet we used to beg him to come.

Our record hasn't been great this year for anyone. Klopp will pick benteke and use him and I for one am grateful to have him. Having 3/4 options is something we have not had since 2007 so I'm hopeful we can use him well and develop origi too.

oh and name 3 sitters.

I can name one off his left he missed in one game off the bench... he's a FAR better finihser than most. he's a good player.

Soton
Newcastle

And there are more. And these are games that we dropped points and they are games that a) he started and b) his goal would have changed the game.

We have scored 6 goals in 9 games that he has started compared to 15 in 7.

Yes - he will score goals but look st his impact on the team. He's a scorer of great goals, not a great scorer.

And guaranteed - if Mario had put in the same performances, everyone would have criticised him. Benteke is getting a free ride because he's scoring a few worldies. He may score but his performances are atrocious and quite frankly not good enough for LFC. His movement and work rate is just as bad as Mario if not worse.
