Its not. hes a good player. that doesn't mean he's "good enough" but he's not god awful.

As i said he's got strengths and weaknesses and one big issue is his woeful on the ball which has lead I think to klopp putting can and now lucas there taking it off the pair of CBs to pass it 10 yards since shako has been out.

However Loverns is doing fairly well for us.

that said he was only ever worth 10mil..... southampton did well to mug rodgers.

(same as lallana, hes got his weaknesses too but klopp will get some use out of him)

I'd sell Lovren before Skrtel. Skrtel's not terrible.

Truth be told though , in an ideal world neither would start for us on a regular basis.

Ideal world's rarely happen even if you are city with unlimited funds or real Madrid.

Lovern isn't that bad if used well.

Skertl is fine when comfy cozy in his slot and he can just go win it. Any pace at all and he's looking for room by dropping off

It will be interesting to see where Klopp will strengthen first.

There's a case for each area of the pitch - which is priority ...

I think he'll look at the midfield first. The midfield is so important in the style he plays.

Not that defense and attack aren't - but midfield is the pressing engine.

I agree too. miidfield is distinctly below par compared to some. I mean we've the warm bodies but i don't think ANY bar can suit Klopp's style long term no matter how much lucas loves it.

Yeah Can was actually a really big miss. He's maturing game by game, he'll be a quality midfielder in time.

I think Henderson next to Can would work well with a real quality DM behind them. I think the first signing he'll make will be a DM tbh. We as fans have known we've needed one for a while now - Rodgers was the only person that didn't see it, surely Klopp can see what we can!!

I'm not knocking Lucas as I actually rate the guy, and think he's done extremely well at our club. But to move us forward I think he needs to be 2nd choice with someone like Mascherano being the top man (Masch just being an example).

Then potentially you have - Can, New DM, Henderson, Firmino, Coutinho, Sturridge, all starting if that's what he wants. That's a good unit that will score shed loads and defend well too.

It's all experiments at this stage. Really looking forward to seeing the squad at the end of next summers window <ok>
