The 11th richest man in Wales’ horse is now 150/1. Also an amazing price given that his dam is a half-sister to a Group 3 winner and there are plenty of other winners in the lineage.
Taken on the Layers on the exchanges stick and grabbed me a piece of 100s. I loved his debut run and think he can go well at a price here. Market suggests he is in decent company though so of course it's a big ask to win.
Very rough ride. Snatched up early on running up the back of others. Bit more interference after. Never in the race. Will help his handicap mark as he is much better than that.
Not a great run but plenty of excuses and Rab certainly eased off early enough once he realised no chance. Disspointing he didnt show any turn of gears he showed on debut
Did the jockey ask him? He certainly has an impressive change of gear (début). I'm assuming it wasn't worth exercising that option given the roughness of the race. Hope he hasn't picked up any injuries from that.
He is fine Ron. Rab said he had a rough time but was honest enough and doing plenty at the finish. Said he got outpaced and hampered at a crucial time. Another run over 1m then up him to 10f for his handicap.
The cynic in me would say you've done no harm whatsoever to his handicap mark and as that's clearly the best way to go with him a little bit of a rough experience today probably does more good than bad.
Perfect run for you that Stick, didn't want to get anywhere near that winner. One more hidden away at the back and there is little possibility for the handicapper to give you anything but a reasonable mark. I have always gone with the idea that you only get one chance to get an opening mark and you can always go for a maiden afterwards if still wanting to. No doubt Buzz has a race in him on that first run.
Oisin Murphy unfortunately got completely out rode by Pat Cosgrave. Oisin took a pull and allowed PC to come across and take the position his draw offered him, had you changed the places of the two horses I believe you change the places they finish also. Very frustrating but I cannot be too harsh as I think Oisin Murphy is a very good jockey who is getting better.
Getting closer, chaps, getting closer! Watch out for the pairing of Bradley / Norton over the coming months, they could be profitable
