I am SB's biggest supporter bit he has to back up the strong words with strong decisions. For me that means:
1) Dropping captain Tom and bringing in Hayden to partner Livermore in central midfield.
2) Realise that Aluko isn't up to it
3) Have a word with the sulking Akpom
4) Get the team playing at high intesity for 90 minutes not 45
it wasnt just the defence.it was the lot of them.not enough determination.and that must be a massive worry for bruce. the management need to be honest with themselves now.there are too many players not at it.livermore is bang average again as well.much as i agree with those who say brucie is our best manager to date.can he get these players playing to their maximum or not . I'm begining to believe his time has come.who we could bring in I've no idea. but if he ever plays aluko again hes lost my voteBruce said it was an unacceptable performance and he'd make sure it didn't happen again.
He's not said anything like that
since....Derby
Aluko was the least of our problems today, the defence was non-existent for the first half hour.
A team captain should ideally have some fire in his belly, and that should be evident in the way he and the team plays. Anyone who's witnessed one of Huddlestone's interviews surely recognises the fact that he isn't that sort of person at all.I am SB's biggest supporter bit he has to back up the strong words with strong decisions. Got to say heard it first time round, he was fizzing to say the least, interesting comment he made about it not making a difference about the name on the back of the shirt if they aren`t putting the effort in, and pulling out of tackles, we need him to follow this through now though, and drop the undroppables, and I`m with you Chaz, I thought the call from Paul was excellent, hit the nail on the head for me, the players need to take a good look at themselves.
It would also have been good to ask him why, after he'd recently dropped him for five games, all of which we won without conceding, did he deem Huddlestone worthy to be named as team captain.Burns should have asked Bruce why he's picking Huddlestone when the winning formula involved an athletic midfield. Bruce does seem to be passing the buck a bit. It doesn't matter how much he shouts at the players in the dressing room it won't turn Huddlestone into an athlete.
Yes, he was a total prickI thought that Paul summed it up perfectly, has for that first caller Mike I think his name was what an idiot Big Leeds fan pretending to support City trying to make out how big and how good they are, Did anyone hear him

Maybe he'll ask him next time. Personally I'm hoping that that question will never need asking in the future, as Bruce will be committing managerial suicide if he continues to select Huddlestone as captain!
Indeed. I said that was a distinct possibility yesterday. The thought of Steve Bruce still seeing Huddlestone as the first name on his team sheet wouldn't shock or surprise me, or I suspect anyone else. As someone else posted, if he does he's almost asking for his P45.Meyler said he might be back for Rotherham. It's an awful (but possible) thought that Huddlestone might not be the player to make way for him.
Hull City have been known for a long time to believe in not having enough strikers. We are saving our money and risking not getting promotion.I'd add he needs to identify two quality centre forwards in January. We are significantly under resourced in that area.
Some of that I agree with, some I don't.January shopping list
1 x goalkeeper as cover
1 x left back - we only have Robertson
1 x centre back - we only have Dawson, Davies and Maguire - irrespective of what I think about Junior - he's a permanent sicknote
1 x centre midfield - one that can challenge for the ball and actually pass would help
2 x attackers - we all hope that Diomande will be a success but looking at Brucies track record with strikers, I'm not that convinced
Brucie has totally ****ed up in the last three transfer windows, releasing players who arguably he should have kept, losing players who have fell out with him, signing players who were already injured when they arrived, signing players then not picking them and loaning them out, managing to give his son one of the longest contracts on the book, ****ing up Europe, ****ing up cup competitions and ****ing up the Premier League, we all hope he isn't going to **** up this season as well and with supposedly one of the best squads in the League we should be playing much better than we are - the quality of play is garbage - and even after all of this there's still the performing seals who sing his name - Bruce definitely out, lets get someone in, anyone in, who can get this squad to play football to their potential, someone who will attack, move the ball forward and try to win games rather than constantly trying to stop teams scoring against us, defending and constantly passing the ball sideways and backwards - I'm sick of people saying ' who can we get better than Bruce' - anyone ffs, whatever Bruce had, he's lost it and looking at performances, it aint coming back
Nobody was saying three games ago we needed six players.
Nobody was saying three games ago we needed six players.
Players have to be self motivated. A manager can only do so much.
They should have been wanting to put the Derby result right.
Not enough heart or commitment.
When we look bad we look really really bad.
