I'm a big fan of Valseur Lido and Djakadam did better last year than I expected. If both are fully tuned up you Cheltenham Gold Cup fans will be getting a very clear indicator of the quality of last years novices compared to the elder generations.

I'd be confident Djakadam would be able to topple Valseur Lido over this trip but whether he's ready to run a big race is uP for discussion.

I tipped up Djakadam at the start of last season for the Gold Cup and he certainly vindicated my belief in him running an absolute corker as a 6yo in the big race. I'd agree with the lads he should be beating his stablemate, if there on similar fitness terms, but the danger is Gilgamboa, he's a horse going the right way and by jolly can this lad jump. I've backed the favourite but it's a trappy race where you're guessing on fitness of the runners.

Ptit Zig 9/4 should boost the Vautour form tomorrow too.

At 2m 4f i would have to be sided with Gilgamboa. I think the 2 ahead of him do their best over further whereas this is his optimum trip. The heavy ground isnt going to cause any issues either and for me i think the danger comes from Clarcam who will also relish the trip and is race fit.
Hope Pont Alexandre the irish banker can have a successful return as he did look like a class act but if there is any chinks in the armour i would fully expect Balbir Du Mathan to take advantage.
Ptit Zig should have too much for Al Ferof who flatters to deceive far too often.

Pont Alexandre was definitely in the bracket of whatever he did over hurdles would be eclipsed by his achievements over fences. However after nearly 3 years off the track he's surely one to watch only. He's odds on against a few decent types.
I'd love to see Flemenstar roll back the years in the John Durkan but can't see it happening sadly.
Beatabout The Bush at Huntingdon, 1.25 @ 8s to help Henry Oliver overcome his recent bout of seconditus will do for me.

Sizing Gold who Pont easily beat in a hurdle race 2 year ago also makes his comeback for DeBromhead in a handicap chase and Seabass also off a lay-off runs in the same race for Ted Walsh. Both watching prospects only. Pont Alexandre ought to be winning this race really if near cherry ripe. The exciting Yorkhill also makes his seasonal bow. Exciting stuff. Just hope the track beats the elements now.

In the first Skint 12/1 could be worth an each way bet. And in the last I like the look of Well Rewarded 5/1. Have a great day
