Douvan is 1/10 in a place tomorrow, a novice chaser on debut <rofl> As much as a star he was last season that's unreal, i think Vautour was only 1/4 or 1/5 in the same race last year!

What's the shortest price the forumites have ever taken in a single? I've taken 2/5 on Kauto Star a few times. Once at Haydock when Sam Thomas fell off and Snoopy Loopy won at 33/1. Scenes.

It's a crazy price really isn't it, absolutely taking no chance of losing a few quid anyway. You'd want deep pockets to be going in at the price but then again, once he jumps around we know he wins so the obstacles are the only worry.

I've definitely taken 1/4 on a few in my younger betting day's thinking I was buying money...losing one or two of those woke me up fairly swiftly. Now I only back 1/20 shots, so I know I'm home and hosed for definite before hand

Oh forgot about Moscow Flyer at 2/7 at Punchy. Beat in a photo by Rathgar Beau. More scenes that day!

Augusta Kate runs in the Navan bumper. Best bumper mare on these isles. Just a pity she wasn't a backable price...

I had a stupid amount (placed the night before when a little drunk) on Harry Topper 4/5 at Kelso a few years ago thinking I was buying money until Timmy Murphy decided to jump off three from home. Did my hangover no favours <laugh>

I went a bit mad on Frankel's last few runs, think I put £1100 down to get £300 back on one run. Trying to remember who I put the bet on with.

Some one had 18k on Loose Chips at 1.01 in running on Friday only for Fruity O'Rooney to collar him on the line <yikes>
He might as well have piled in on the Sheena West gamble, he would have got a few more hours anticipation from it anyway.

De Faoitosdream - looks really good for today. Went far too hard at Cheltenham but travelled strongly until he blew up. That race was strong and he may get his own way today. Exeter should suit and 5s is big.

I think the most I have ever bet on a horse is £100. I was told that a certain well bred 2yo would never be odds against after it won its first race and that it was entered for the Derby. Took the afternoon off work and drew out £500 to back it on début. Just got to a bookie shop in time and it was odds on. So I only put £100 of it on (rushed bet). It lost, never in the race. Said the the girl behind the counter "Thank goodness I didn't put it all on" and left. I was in the shop about 2 mins. Bought the wife a present with some of the money I didn't lose.

Hey Dex, I went to Espuma del Mar yesterday evening. Met Juan. He wasn't in the greatest of spirits. Probably not the best El Classico day to meet him but he did prepare us some super grilled mixed fish!

Backed Denman at 4/9 in the Lexus, cant recall any other single at those kind of odds.

Douvan is that short because they know you will be lucky if even 1 in that field is trying against him, will let him stroll round in front probably and stay as far away as possible.
