You flag up Dawson there but even if he doesn't leave you are aware that he struggles with injuries so there is a better than odds on chance he will miss a good few weeks of the season yet?
Does the phrase 'famous last words' meaning anything to you? It's football 101, you're never too good to go down and you're never too good to have a bad run. We only need to lose a couple of games and have the others catch up for us to drop into the playoffs. Then it's a lottery, 3 cup finals to play in. No guarantees whatsoever. We could lose to the team in 6th in the semis and it's another season of Championship football. Of course, we could do an Ipswich and fall out of the picture completely. I think what you meant to say was "I hope we maintain our form", but the way you say it makes it sound like a certainty.
end I have used that phrase many times. Yes we could fall away. The world could end before May. But yes, If we do maintain form then we shall be ok, IMHO. The desire from within the squad is massive and you obviously are not seeing that at this time.
What makes you say that? I can see that the team are playing well, it doesn't mean they're definitely going to get promoted, it's only November.
TBF I think he's referring to the squad depth & that story about Clucas that said if he doesn't keep up form then he'll lose his place. I think confidence is huge right now & every player is in the same boat regarding not wanting to be dropped!
He was clearly referring to the fact that none of our players will want to leave for the Premier League, that being in the top 2 in the Championship is better than being in the bottom 3 of the Premier League. That rings true in May, but he was talking about January transfers and our strong league position stopping players leaving. Which, if the players want to, they will.
All depends how desperate and how crazy clubs are with the money they offer. Say bmouth offered Davies a 3 year deal with no relegation clause he'd bite their hands off. If they offer us 3 million he'll be gone.
Fair enough, but what I wrote is what I think & I feel that the confidence in the squad should be taken into account & the reasons for it too!
IF ^^^^ this and it is a massive IF, It would be good business all round from a Wonga stand point. Especially if Davies has told the club he will leave in the summer regardless. I suspect though that whatever spare cash Bournemouth have will be used for new striker/s in Jan. Our league position come January 4th will have a significant bearing on the business Hull City do. imo.
