I particularly like the Daily Mail reader comments underneath the article <laugh>

Glad to see that your average Daily Mail reader is doing all they can to dispel the cliche about them being closed-minded bigots . . .

  5. These kinds of attacks always bring out the worst in people, and the media, which panders to the very worst in people, at times like these.

This could be the first time that HIAG and Piskie have posted after each other without 15 pages of a pissing contest following. In that sense, this thread wins... and in some small way, so has humanity.

Don't worry, Treble. On another thread, I'm already calling PIXIE a clown!

It wouldn't really be in good taste to take the piss out of HIAG on this thread.

Besides, there's the rest of the PL board to do that on <whistle>

Keeping strictly on topic. I listened today to PMQ and Cameron's drive for air strikes in Syria. Corbyn asked him about addressing the banks and corps that fund ISIS and Cameron's response was 'let this not be a substitute (for taking military action)'

Seems that Cameron has made his mind up. Actually cutting ISIS off at the root (their money and arms supply) seems like a much better option surely ?

A compelling story about a heroic Muslim security guard stopping a suicide bomber from entering the Stade de France on Friday, saving perhaps hundreds of lives, is making the rounds on social media. But it's not true.

The rumour sprang from a gripping account of the events outside the stadium which was published by the Wall Street Journal on Sunday. The story quoted a security guard who asked to only be identified by his first name, Zouheir. The man described how one of the suicide attackers had a ticket to the match between France and Germany, but was turned away from the gates when guards found his explosive vest. The man backed away from security guards and detonated the explosives.

Zouheir gave a detailed account of events at the stadium, statements that were confirmed to the Wall Street Journal reporters by a police officer. But although the story relied on his account, it wasn't actually him who turned away the bomber - a detail that was confirmed to BBC Trending by Journal reporter Joshua Robinson. Instead, Zouheir was stationed elsewhere in the stadium, and related what he heard from colleagues who were closer to the bomb blast. And although his name is of Middle Eastern origin, his religion was never mentioned in the piece.

  13. The only ones who profit from wars are the banks and faceless manarins who prop up the West's puppet-governments.

That's been the case for centuries, and it's no different today.

There has been a lot of opinion posted here in this subject. Some I agree with, some I do not.

I would only point out to those who would blame the whole of a religion for the actions of a minority of extremists who pervert the teachings of their own proclaimed faith for their own purposes, you are following the agenda that these terrorists have in mind. They want you to hate them! They want to drive a wedge between Islam and us. They want a war with us, and their agenda is to provoke one by the actions we have just seen.

    Good post fella.

Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Jew or aetheist, if you're nationalised in the West then we should all stand side by side against these ****ers.

They're attacking our collective freedom and culture. Their aim is terror, pure and simple. If we allow this to turn into a destructive argument about attacking or defending Islam or Britishness, then they have won.

**** them and **** their ****house tactics of creating terror and disharmony.

I think what you're trying to say can be summed up by this :bandit:

We all know who ISIS is here.

Unfortunately, the likes of the BNP, Marie Le Pen, and others, will use these incidents to rabble rouse. It seems to be working already.

I'm not entirely sure how we get the message through to some people, but we must try to make the guy on the street realize that hate is what this scum want.

Unfortunately yes, the short term knee jerk reaction amongst the *cough* less cerebral amongst our number, will be to blame the 'muzzles' etc and create hate and resentment amongst our own communities, which is again, what the real enemy here wants.
