Nev could have just a not read all the rules (oh the irony) so I'm less suspicious of him than tash to be honest.

Don't see an issue with lynching tash tonight and then after the nightly actions if we have no further info then putting Nev up.

Nev had read the rules - but did it too quickly to check Tash's claim <doh>

I am town and when I'm mafia I NEVER back up my team mates. I might muddy the waters elsewhere but those who have been mafia with me will know that I never defend - it's a stupid move.

Gerrez could be lying about being patched up, but to me that would be a stupid move too. Much more likely that he is an innocent that survived a kill attempt. For now at least I think that is a town read.

Tash - I was thrown by his rule claim so now I don't know. The problem is I haven't seen enough of his playing style in the past. I can't exactly go after him for misquoting the rules now though can I? <doh>

My thoughts exactly, Tash is looking more guilty, but if we have a massively one-sided lynch then we learn very little, I would prefer a few candidates up there just in case, but I still want Tash lynched. <ok>

One thing that concerns me about Neville backing Tash so obviously is that I doubt if they were both Synths they would do that, it would be way too obvious.

    So either
    (A) Neville just didn't read the rules properly (<laugh>), which means Tash could be townie or Synth, or
    (B) Neville does know the rules but is backing Tash for another reason. Only thing I could think of is that Nev could be Synth and he wants to back Tash in case he is innocent (if Nev was Synth he would know if Tash was/wasn't), so if Tash is killed and we see he's human then Nev can say "AHA, told you he was innocent", and gets town cred in the process.

I think A is more likely than B, but it's worth bearing in mind. Option B is a clever move I'd suspect from you IBWT! <laugh>

Edit: so I'm keeping my vote on Nev...

What do we get from putting Nev up though? In a two way tie, he might go be innocent and we still have tash.

If idea being put him close but still lynch tash then it's pointless because no one is going to jump in to save him.

Better Off lynching tash now then putting Nev and another in a 2 way tie tomorrow if tash is a synth.

B Is a good plan... fsr too clever for anyone else bar me to do though ;)

its kind ins of what I was saying about him and Gerrez though, latching onto a relatively known innocent in the hope they trust you.

Tennis, don't see how A would mean tash is innocent though.

Nev eve not reading the rules has no bearing on tash mysteriously ending up in the saloon.

The he fact tash hasn't bothered answering why he ended up there either is dodgy.

    <laugh>

So basically I'm either implying you're stupid or a Synth, not an easy choice! <laugh>

Just giving you the benefit of the doubt that you just misread the rules.
But option B is a remote possibility!

  14. Didn't Tash claim he didn't visit the saloon but the "newspaper" clearly says he was in the saloon? Why lie about that?

I never said that... I said in my post that Option A means Tash could be townie or a Synth, it does not tell us at all whether he's guilty or not. <ok>

Because he's a synth, didn't make a choice and his team made it for him.... He didn't realise they made that choice.

Hes es probably telling the truth, which means he's a synth :)

just dy call me Sherlock <ok>

I see your point but I still disagree.

We've seen in the past that when someone is up for an outright lynch (notably ACS the Gunsmith in the last game) that when they KNOW they're getting lynched they very often don't even bother defending themselves. They have a "Screw you guys if you think I'm guilty, you'll see tonight I'm innocent" attitude and it doesn't help us at all.
Likewise if they're bad guys their teammates will never even bother to try save them as you mention.

Now if it's a slightly closer vote (doesn't have to be a tie, just a realistic vote swing must be a possibility) then there is a lot more incentive for someone to justify their actions or to try prove their innocence. I agree the bad guys would be very wary of backing their own teammate unless its a very close vote, but at least the chance is still there that someone might try save their teammate, certainly more chance than the previous scenario. But the biggest advantage is if they're innocent they'll hopefully try clear their name.

Note I'm not saying that if we suspect someone then we should throw them in to a tied lynch. I'm all for lynching suspicious characters and I'm not a fan of just going for tied lynches as a default strategy. However I'm saying that I would prefer a 9-6 type vote rather than a 14-1 vote as it will hopefully tell us more info, and hopefully Tash will try defend himself (which he hasn't done yet).
