The difficulty is reform of the Qur'an. In short, it can't happen. The Qur'an is the word of Allah, given by divine revelation. One sect that tried to interpret it differently, amending it wholesale in the process were persecuted and wiped out about 900 years ago. It's sacrilege to amend the Qur'an in any way so what 'moderates' do is practice Islam incorrectly, interpreting Jihad as an internal struggle, saying that the English translation of the original Arabic is misleading.

Truth is, the radical version of Islam is the pure, correct form, and honest Muslims will admit that pivately. What pisses me off is the moderates' mantra that "ISIS has nothing to do with Islam" - it's a blatant lie. Take a look at You Tube videos on chat shows and debates when people like Douglas Murray address this issue. As soon as he says Fundamental Islam is a huge problem he's booed by so-called 'moderates' who refuse to recognise it's anything to do with Islam.

There's your problem, right there.

Spurlock - you still think I know nothing of Islamic teachings? That's funny. Here's a tip. Read as much of the Qur'an as you can stomach (it's heavy going); better still, Mohammed's biography (it's scary as ****); read about Islamic abrogation of their book (it's worrying). When you've done all that we'll talk. Until then shut the **** up.

I'll give you a clue though.

Learn to separate man and his flawed thoughts, perverse mindset, and now this is the important word 'INTERPRETATION' of a teaching from the actual teaching.

Because the two are not the same.

Once you manage that, there's room in your hearts and minds to be rational.

ISIS has nothing to do with Islam. Nowhere in Islam does it allow the deaths of innocents. Man on the other hand is flawed in its interpretation.

There are 1.7 billion Muslims in this world and if we all are Muslims like ISIS...then the world is in bother. Thank god we are not because we know This is not Islam..and we remove ourselves and speak up against ISIS in our mosques and social gatherings. I do not know of 1 single muslim who thinks ISIS has anything to do with Islam.

I am born and bread in the UK. I don't see why I need to prove my worth anymore than the next man...however it doesn't mean I think the sun shines out of western foreign policies arse. If I do, then I'd be closer to ISIS and their extreme thoughts...just like Many posts on here are rather extreme and anti Islamic as oppose to anti ISIS.

So.....Spurlock's answer is one-liners cut and pasted from a blog somewhere. No answers, no solutions. The problem with Islam IS interpretation. The Qur'an is badly written, manly boring and in many ways contradictory. You do know that, right? But it's an unequivocal fact that the radicals have right at their back, leaving moderates with a fig leaf of a religion. I'm glad most Muslims DO practice it that way, otherwise we'd be in bigger trouble.

I have Muslim mates in Egypt and visit there regularly (I'm a qualified SCUBA instructor). ALL of them drink, all privately admit paying lip service to Islam. All go through fasting on Ramadan. All acknowledge that the Qur'an urges violence against infidels but they obviously ignore that. All are great guys.

Saudis hate ISIS but a recent poll there revealed that 92% of the public there recognised that ISIS followed the tenets of the Qur'an. They are right.

So please don't come on here spouting drivel and calling us bigots and ignorant because nothing could be further from the truth.

I don't have to prove Islam to you. If you are on this thread giving your two pence worth, the least you could do is learn about what you hate with hard sources..so that you are actually correct.Not some bullshit Internet meme. Even people like you manage to be king on the Internet.

No mate, I don't need to prove Islam to you and what it teaches. If you was sincere you would actually do the research.

However you are just on a bandwagon. The type that believes anything that they are sold by the media.

Like I said..you don't know **** all about Islam..nothing apart from the regurgitated tripe in order to belittle.

Because if you knew anything about Islam then you would wind your necks in a little and if your concern was sincere then you would have done your research and would have been able to differentiate between ISIS and Islam.

Nothing to do with arrogance I'm just not a product of the media <ok>

Once again that statement proves you know **** all about Islam.

I would love to elaborate but no point. I'm far from arrogant. However I won't let ignorant people think they know about something they quite clearly don't.
