Liverpool Transfer News: Fresh Robert Lewandowski and Riccardo Saponara Rumours http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=liverpool
What about him under performing? If he was paying well and carrying everyone fair enough but he wasn't and added to the problem. Can't say I have missed him that much and thought he might be a loss. Our problem is scoring and he didn't really help in that dept anyway
He was 19 and was expected to lead our attack. Not to mention that he had played a lot of football over past 18 months - more than other players his age so fatigue played a part. We miss his movement, his pressing, his speed and his creativity. Give me Sterling over Lallana any day of the week. But i don't blame him for leaving. A lot of people thought he would be warming the bench at City - instead, he's starting the league leaders and playing CL.
I agree. I also think every player has the right to try and get the best job and pay they can for themselves and their family. He was still an arse through the whole ordeal though and showed very little respect.
I don't buy into fatigue for young players. Did you ever feel tired when that young? I used to play football five days a week at that age and not ****ing stop or feel tired, and I'm wasn't trained athlete in peak fitness condition either
Yes, you used to play football 5x a week but at what level? The fitness levels required for top flight football is insanely high. Not saying fatigue was a major impact on his performances but it certainly didn't help. Look at Emre Can - lad has played every game almost and you could see the fatigue in his game against Palace. Young players are still developing - can't expect them to be playing so much football. And it's not just the physical impact. It's a lot of pressure for young players to handle.
Problem with Sterling was he was only ever class with class around him. When end he could jump on the back of Suarez who was double marked and created acres of space for Aterling and Sturridge (and Gerrard) then everyone looked good when steeling became the main threat and expectation was to step up he couldn't cope and performances dipped. No no doubt he's a good player , not with the money but young n English meant it was high. He'll do ok at city because he's with other top players so he'll ride on their success again and in 3/4 years time he might be one of those top top players. But arm he's not that level.
Agree to some extent. The fact he didn't look out of place alongside SAS indicates that he's a good player with potential to become top class. But he was easily replaceable Unlike Suarez or Torres
People are naturally fitter whilst younger than when they're older. I think claiming fatigue on a teenager is compete bollox.
Liverpool Transfer News: Cristian Tello, Timo Horn, Samuel Bastien, Top Rumours By Rob Blanchette, Featured Columnist Nov 12, 2015 please log in to view this image Carlos Rodrigues/Getty Images Liverpool are ready to open talks with Barcelona's Cristian Tello in a move that could see his loan deal with Porto cut short. According to Spanish outlet Fichajes (h/t George Bellshaw of Metro), the attacker has emerged as one of manager Jurgen Klopp's main targets and is considered to become an "important player" for the Reds if he moves to Anfield. Klopp is described as "desperate" to land the 24-year-old, per Bellshaw, as he looks to welcome fresh blood into his squad. The player suits the style of football the German wants to play, injecting pace and trickery into the attack. please log in to view this image FRANCISCO LEONG/Getty Images Tello is more than halfway through a two-year loan spell at Porto and is open to leaving the Blaugrana, according to Portuguese newspaper A Bola (h/t Metro's Mark Brus). Porto have an option to buy the player at the end of his loan, and his agent Josep Maria Orobitg has previously talked up a permanent move to Portugal, per O Jogo (h/t Goal's Stefan Coerts): Tello and I have already told Barcelona that he does not want to return to Camp Nou. And Barcelona do not want to have any players who would rather be elsewhere. His future is not at Barcelona. Tello would like to stay at Porto. He really wants to stay put and we are not just saying this to give him a good image. He loves Porto and has always been treated very well. It all depends on what Porto want. We have not heard anything yet. If Porto don't want him to stay, he will move on. There is plenty of interest from other countries. His priority is to stay at Porto, though. Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher recent surmised his former team need to find players with pace who can operate in the wide areas, varying the side's predictability, per Sky Sports (h/t theIrish Independent): There is not enough being created. The football has not been quick and fast, it's been slow and predictable, they are not creating chances. There are no wide players in the squad, there is an abundance of No. 10s. I don't know how the transfer committee thought they would fit them in. That is Jurgen Klopp's problem now. Maybe he will address that in January but there are four centre forwards and three or four No 10s and no wide players. There are some problems with that squad in terms of the quality and the balance. please log in to view this image VI-Images/Getty Images Klopp is also looking to add weight to his squad in defensive positions and has targeted a return to Germany to capture young goalkeeper Timo Horn. The Sun (h/t Alex Harris of the Daily Star) said Cologne's 22-year-old could be brought to Anfield to provide competition in the squad, and Klopp can buy the player for as little as £6.5 million in January due to a release clause in his current deal. The stopper has been first-choice at his club since he was 18 and is one of the country's brightest talents. Fichajes (h/t Luke Gardener of the Daily Star) also said Klopp could move for another goalkeeper—Barcelona's Marc-Andre ter Stegen—but his £56.8 million buyout clause makes him a difficult purchase to execute. Villa To Steal Teenager please log in to view this image Kaz Photography/Getty Images Liverpool could be about to miss out on a recent target after the news Anderlecht's Samuel Bastien is linked with a move to Aston Villa. According to Italian website IrpiniaNews.it (h/t Bellshaw of Metro), the Villa Park club have registered an interest in the talented midfielder, who is on loan at Italian Serie B side Unione Sportiva Avellino 1912. The Reds "attempted" to sign the player in the summer, per Bellshaw, and will have to move fast if they wish to reignite their interest. Tello would be an interesting addition to Liverpool's squad, but it is difficult to imagine him becoming a major player in the Premier League. Does Klopp need a better class of player than Tello? Yes 68.8% No 31.2% Total votes: 1,802 The Spaniard would offer Klopp good balance on the left wing, but it is debatable whether he has the quality to help the team into the top four Champions League qualifying positions in the domestic table. He would be an affordable January addition for Liverpool, but his levels of creativity might be found wanting in English football. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=liverpool
I can remember being fatigued in my late teens/early twenties. Some times I would fall asleep during the day at work. Nothing to do with fitness I was just on the lash most nights and juggling several girls. Hated sport
That's fair enough - so you think we should play Can, Ibe etc every week, in every game and not expect any sort of fatigue?
If your still growing being over played can be very dangerous. It is the reason why Owen, Walcott and so many others have become so injury prone by their mid twenties. If we are not careful the same will happen to Ibe.
ok i will twist that for you lol. what about we tread carefully with them and treat them right and look after them only for their head to be turned by the money clubs and they want to buy their trophies and **** off after we MUGS have done right by them? i doubt we would have been so successful if we took that logic with owen, he def earnt us some trophies.
