Miss Crick is out again of the morrow (3.30 Ludlow) but it’s going to be very difficult for her as she’s opposed by Mr Henderson’s very useful mare, Robins Reef. Also, Alan King isn’t in the greatest of form with, at the time of writing, his last 20 runners all being beaten.

Miss Crick, as my regular readers will recall, burst onto the scene by winning a bumper against the geldings at Newbury in February. She looked most, most impressive that day and seemed, at that point in her career, to have the world at her feet. Since that day though her formline reads -05. There were excuses next time in a Listed Bumper as she was ‘over the top’ but first time up this term she showed little in finishing 5th at Fontwell. Tomorrow though sees the old girls hurdling bow so let’s hope that this discipline reinvigorates her and she returns to the level of that Newbury win. If she does Miss Crick is good enough to trouble almost any mare in training. Really hope she does.

Good luck all.

It may be of interest that Modus is also entered in 2 races (Leicester and Plumpton) on the 16th Nov

Oh do behave Barney. ROBINS REEF is on my list of "bumpers going hurdling to follow". She will be right up there in the ranks of the top mares this season. Miss Crick is cannon fodder to a mare of this quality!

Chelmsford 5.25 Silk Gem 18-1 ew

Varian's has a favourite's chance but this won't be far away.

Did I just hear that Ollie Stevens is giving up this year?

Indian Rupee is a nice Ew bet at 9/2 in the next Clonmel, can't see him out of the first three

Faded badly.Deano looks interesting in 3.25,nice Ew price 5/1

How annoying, horse with poor Fibresand form does Even Stevens. Good run by the horse, wonder if they can get him into a race at CC

Racing Post Spotlight on Horsehill for 2.10 at Taunton:

"Well related; won an Irish maiden point in April 2014; improved in his three novice hurdles at around 2m4f last season; trainer won this race last year with another chasing debutant, who was coming back from a huge absence; very much one to note on this handicap/chase debut."

£10 E.W. for me.

Dalia Pour Moi is the most likely to win the 2.30 at Ludlow, but Kerrow is priced at 25/1 and trained by Alan King so placed £5 E.W. bet.
